VirginVirgin Atlantic staff are to be balloted to see whether or not to take strike action.

Members of the Unite union are going to be taking ballot on the decision of whether or not to walk out over pay. There are over 3000 members of staff set to vote on the fact that cabin personnel earn up to £10,000 less than those of British Airways.

The ballots are said to be lasting until 20 December when a decision will be made.

1,200 Virgin cabin crew members rejected a two-year pay offer which was going to be an 8.3% increase to their basic pay. Virgin claimed that this was the best offer an airline has given in the past year.

Should a strike be voted for, there will be 7 days notice. However, the union can take action for 28 days.
