Sidari – located on the western part of the north coast of Corfu
Sidari is a quiet resort that is perfect for families looking for a package holiday. British tourists can always be seen in the resort and there is a lot of picturesque scenery for you to enjoy. From the airport, the transfer time for this resort is around 1 and a half hours. This gives you plenty of time to look around at the surrounding scenery that Corfu has to offer as well as gain an idea of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beach in Sidari is long and narrow and covered in golden sand. The sea tends to generally be calm and shallow making it safe for children. The beach is the perfect setting for you to sit back and relax. There are a number of self-catering apartments available as well as a few hotels offering half-board and all-inclusive. All accommodation ranges from 2-4-stars.
Sidari – wide range of beach based activities to enjoy
The beach in Sidari is popular and therefore, so are the water sports that are available there. You will find windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, jet-skiing and water-skiing. Many people also just use the beach to spend the day relaxing in the sunshine. There are plenty of coastal walks for you to enjoy to get some amazing views of the island as well as some walks in the hills. There is a small water park in the resort which is suitable for children as well as a brilliant go-karting centre. Bowling and mini golf are also popular activities in the resort as they are something different for people to do when they are away. There are also a number of excursions for you to try such as a number of coach island tours to other resorts such as Corfu Town or Paleokastritsa, visit the water park in Aghios Ioannis, or go on many boat trips including a glass-bottomed boat.
Sidari – plenty of taverns to choose from
Sidari is home to a number of taverns that offer a variety of cuisines, with the main one being traditional Greek cuisines and seafood. If this is not for you, then you will find a number of places offering the all-day British breakfast, Chinese cuisines, Italian and Mexican. Nightlife is fairly quiet in the resort with a couple of nightclubs, although there are a number of bars. Many of the bars generally belong to hotels, but anyone is able to come in. Cocktails and live music can normally be found. Shopping is limited with a few clothing shops, souvenir shops, jewellers and supermarkets. If you want a wider choice of shops then take a trip to Corfu Town. There is a reliable and cheap bus service taking you into Corfu Town and Kassiopi and there are plenty of taxis available. Car, quad-bike and bicycle hire are available.
Sidari - constant sunshine on the island
There are around 300 days of sunshine in the resort of Sidari. Summer temperatures have been known to reach above 30°C, with the hottest month being July, closely followed by August. You will see around 13 hours of sunshine a day at peak times, with the temperatures remaining at a comfortable level thanks to the coastal breeze. December and January are colder, however temperatures are still at around 12-15°C. Rain only occurs in the winter months from November onwards. The summers in Sidari are long, hot and dry, with September and October still seeing temperatures of around 25°C. The sea temperatures are quite warm in the summer but will cool down at night. It can be slightly cooler in the north than in the south.
