Sharm El Sheikh – located on the eastern side of the southernmost tip of the Sinai Peninsula
Sharm El Sheikh has unusually warm waters and is therefore very popular with people who enjoy water sports such as scuba diving. It is a popular winter sun destination as it is warm all year round. Families and couples will find the resort most appealing. The transfer time to Sharm El Sheikh from Sharm El Sheikh Airport is only 15 minutes meaning you get to spend plenty of time in the resort itself. The beaches are perfect for relaxing on and there are plenty of sunbeds and parasols available. The beach is also where you will find the water sports that you want to try. There are many hotels in Sharm El Sheikh and mostly range between 4-5-stars. Mostly you will find all-inclusive although there are some self-catering options.
Sharm El Sheikh – plenty of water sports for you to enjoy
Sharm El Sheikh is home to some brilliant water sports such as snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, jet-skiing or water-skiing. There are also plenty of beach activities going on such as volleyball. There are also camel rides, horse-riding and rides on quad bikes and bicycles available. An 18-hole golf course is also popular as well as the crazy golf that is available on the beach. There are also plenty of excursions for you to go on such as visiting a Monastery, going on desert safaris or going on trips to Cairo or Luxor.
Sharm El Sheikh – a wide number of restaurants and cuisines available
There is a wide number of restaurants in Sharm El Sheikh that offer Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Italian, French and Egyptian cuisines among others. Most of the restaurants are hotel based although you will find a few restaurants. There are several fast food places such as McDonald’s in the area. You will find that many of the hotels in Sharm El Sheikh offer evening entertainment in the form of discos, dances and live music. You will also find live music in the bars and there is a casino for people to enjoy. There are many taxis in Sharm El Sheikh which can be quite cheap as long as you organise a fare before making the journey.
Sharm El Sheikh - brilliant summer temperatures
Sharm El Sheikh benefits from daily warm weather. During the summer, temperatures can be as high as 43°C during the day and drop to 7°C at night. The average minimum temperature in the winter is 14°C and in the summer it is 30°C although it can reach a lot higher than this. There is little rainfall in the resort and when it does rain it normally clears up very quickly. June, July and August are the warmest months in Sharm El Sheikh with December being the coldest. However, December still occasionally gets a high of 20.5°C. In the winter months you will still get 7-8 hours of sunshine a day and 12 in the summer.
