Passengers who have reduced-mobility will now have better access to London Stansted Airport thanks to a number of accessibility improvements.

A new EU legislation is being brought into place that will make it the sole responsibility of airport operator BAA to organise the disabled access into the airports. This is why the changes have been made affective now.

Waiting areas have been refurbished for those who need assistance and new wheelchairs have been purchased. Help points have also been improved and leaflets are available to help passengers know where to go for help.

In a bid to be even better for passengers, customer feedback questionnaires are being introduced so that the staff can monitor their service levels and find out if the changes are working. The aim is to give the best level of service to those with mobility difficulties.

Up to 100,000 passengers request mobility assistance each year from the airport.
