For the first time, the annual number of passengers passing through UK regional airports has exceeded 100 million.

The CAA have released figures that show this is 3 times more than those who passed through in 1990. The strongest increase is coming from passengers wishing to travel to international destinations.

Most regional airports offer daily scheduled flights to at least 12 international airports. Both business and leisure travellers have been included in this, which proves how regional airports have continuously developed.

Most passengers can now fly direct to their destination rather than having to change or having to use another form of transport.
