Terminal FiveHeathrow’s new terminal 5 will have revolutionary parking technology that actually guides drivers to empty spaces. It will also help them find their car when they are leaving the airport.

There are going to be three new car parks and 7000 parking spaces that will be available form March next year. The multi-storey car parks will benefit the most from the new technology.

The new technology will be known as ‘bay monitoring’ and all empty spaces will be highlighted with a green light. Arrows will also guide drivers round the car park.

In order to help drivers find their cars afterwards, ‘Car Finder’ will track it to a specific zone and then find it by using number plate recognition and CCTV.

There will also be kiosks where customers can enter their registration number or their ticket and that will then tell them where their car is.
