Stoupa – located on the south coast of the Peloponnese region of Greece
Stoupa is a resort that appeals to people looking for a quiet and low key holiday. The resort is very popular among young families and mature couples. Teenagers and people looking for a busy nightlife will not be so attracted to Stoupa. The transfer time for this resort is around 1 and a half hours meaning you have plenty of time to look around at the surrounding scenery of the Peloponnese region. As well as this, you have plenty of time to gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. You have a choice of three beaches in Stoupa, all covered in sand that leads down to the waters edge. You will find a number of sunbeds and parasols to enjoy as well as some water sports available. The accommodation in Stoupa mainly consists of self-catering studios and apartments and a number of hotels, mainly offering a bed and breakfast board basis.
Stoupa – a number of beach front activities
Stoupa only has a few water sports on offer in the form of hiring pedalloes, going for a swim or taking a banana boat ride. There are however a number of excursions that you can go on such as many organised trips from tour operators to other islands or other resorts on the island of Greece. Kalamata is a popular place to visit for shoppers as it has a number of shops to enjoy, from clothing, to souvenirs, to crafts. The ancient site of Olympia is a must see for a clear and interesting insight into the history and culture that Greece holds. You can see the original Olympic flame still burning at the site as well as a number of ancient ruins. There are also a number of old houses and cobbled streets for you to explore.
Stoupa – a number of restaurants for you to choose from
Stoupa has around 20 restaurants for you to choose from, most offering traditional and local Greek cuisine. You will find some international cuisine such as British or Italian in the forms of a number of pizzas and pastas. The restaurants are all affordable and many people choose to enjoy the local wine with dinner. A number of the restaurants are located along the waterfront, where you will also find a number of small bars offering music and drinks until the last customer walks out the door. There is a small selection of shops in the resort, mostly located near the waterfront offering clothing and souvenirs. You will also find a few supermarkets which are beneficial, especially if you are on a self-catering board basis. There is no public transport service in the village itself, however there are bus stops just outside the village heading to Aghios Nikolaos and Kardimili.
Stoupa – long hot Mediterranean summers
Stoupa enjoys a Mediterranean climate of very long and hot summers. July and August are the hottest months in the resort with an average temperature of 25°C although this commonly rises to highs of well over 30°C. May is the official start to the summer with temperatures at 21°C which quickly rises to 25°C by June. There is normally no rainfall over July and August and the evenings remain hot at highs of 22°C. July and August see 12 hours of sunshine a day which drops to around 5 hours a day in the winter. Spring and Autumn are pleasant times to come if you are not keen on very hot weather, with temperatures mostly ranging between 16-20°C. Winters tend to be mild in Stoupa with temperatures staying at around 10°C. Between October and May you can expect to see some rainfall but not to the extent that we are used to. December if the wettest month in Stoupa however it still tends to remain fairly warm.

Peloponnese – located to the south of mainland Spain
Peloponnese is a destination that appeals to people who have high interests in history and culture as well as relaxing on the beach. The beaches in Peloponnese are well known for their beauty, especially with their scenic back drops of the Greek mountains. The beaches along the western coast are considered the best and tend to be less crowded than others. You will find both sunbeds and parasols available for you to hire as well as a number of water sports for you to enjoy. Most of the beaches are covered in fine, pale sand that leads down to the waters edge. During high season, some beaches get more crowded than others, however there is generally somewhere for everyone. Accommodation in Peloponnese consists of a number of hotels, apartments and villas. All accommodation generally ranges from 2-4-stars and you will find self-catering, half-board and all-inclusive available.

There are a number of water sports available on some of the best beaches of the Peloponnese. These include windsurfing, surfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, paragliding, scuba diving, snorkelling, swimming and even taking some boat trips. If you prefer to stay on dry land, then why not go and take a look at all of the Greek and Roman remains that are located all around. There are also Venetian castles and palaces to explore. In the north west region of the Peloponnese is the famous Olympia which is a brilliant place for learning about the history and culture of Greece. The Temple of Zeus and the Olympic Stadium and must sees when you visit the resort. There are plenty of ancient ruins on the eastern side of the Peloponnese or you can go elsewhere to find a number of taverns, bars and attractive scenic areas.

There are a number of shops in the Peloponnese region of Greece. You will find clothing, souvenirs, shoes, bags and other crafts located around Peloponnese. Some areas will have more to offer than others. Public transport is good, with a number of buses taking you around the various resorts on the island. Taxis are also available as is car and bike hire.

Terminal Overhaul at Birmingham Airport June 23rd 2008 by Kirstie
Birmingham International Airport have begun £45 million worth of work on their expansion project for Terminal 1.
The new facility which has been dubbed the International Pier will be 3 storeys tall and 240 metres in length.
The Terminal will have space for 7 wide-bodied aircrafts as well as 13 smaller aircrafts. there will also be new passenger lounges to enjoy.
The new facility will ensure that Birmingham remains a competitive airport and will hopefully gain more business.
Both locals and foreigners using the new and improved terminal will be very impressed with what they see. There will be enough facilities to ensure that the growing demand for international services can be found from Birmingham.
The terminal is being designed to ensure that it can also house future aircraft such as the Airbus A350 and the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.

New pre-pay baggage facility from easyJet June 20th 2008 by Kirstie
If you are travelling with easyJet and want to pay for excess baggage weight, then you can now do it before you arrive at the airport thanks to a new system being introduced.
The new system was introduced yesterday and offers a reduced rate to people who work out and pay excess baggage fees before getting to the airport either online or over the phone.
Excess weight is calculated in denominations of 3kg. This will cost you £15 per unit with a £3 discount on the fee given by check-in staff.
The new move has been introduced in a bid to cut down on airport queues, meaning fewer delays and happier passengers.
The new facility is set to be very popular as it saves passengers both time and money.
The website is easy to navigate making the process that much quicker and easier.

Mykonos Town – located in the north west of Mykonos
Mykonos Town is the capital of Mykonos and the main port. Mykonos Town holidays appeal to people looking to spend their days sightseeing or lazing around at the beach and for people who enjoy a lively and upbeat nightlife. The transfer time from the airport into the resort is only 10-15 minutes, giving you plenty of time in the resort itself. Mykonos Town beach is next to the harbour so a better option is Megali Ammos beach which has fine pale sand that leads down to the shallow waters. The beach is safe for children however it is important that they are still accompanied at all times. Sunbeds and parasols are available and many boat trips can be taken from the beaches and the harbour. Accommodation in Mykonos Town consists of hotels, apartments and villas. The majority of the accommodation ranges from 2-4-stars however there are a few 5-star options available. The apartments offer a self-catering board basis, however the hotels offer half-board or all-inclusive.
