stansted.jpgAirport company BAA have submitted proposals for a new runway to be built at London Stansted.

If the proposals are accepted and the plans go ahead, then this will be the first new runway built at a London airportfor 50 years.

The proposal is to build a two-runway, two-terminal airport by 2015. The new and improved Stansted airport would be worth £9 billion.

13,000 jobs will be created by the expansion which will cause many people to back the proposals.

BAA has also said that they will reduce the physical space requirements of the airport.
