easyJet, the UK’s largest airline, launched a new service from London Gatwick to the French coastal town of Biarritz today. The new four-times weekly service (Sunday, Monday, Wednesday & Friday), will provide easy and low-cost access to some of the most beautiful beaches, breathtaking landscapes and mouth-watering nouvelle cuisine in the Basque Country.

Biarritz is situated on the Bay of Biscay. With its hot summers, the ‘Monte Carlo of the Atlantic’ is famed for its fantastic surf, glorious sunshine and old world charm with its beautiful 18th century architecture. Ideal as a weekend break destination, Biarritz is also the perfect base for exploring the beautiful south west region of France and the Basque Country.

easyJet expects to carry 10,000 passengers on this new route in the first 12 months of operation and seats are now available.

David Osborne, easyJet’s UK Country Manager, said:

“Biarritz is already a popular destination from other easyJet bases and now travellers from Gatwick have the opportunity to explore one of the most popular destinations on the west coast of France. Forward bookings for the route have been strong, which further proves the demand for affordable flights to the sun this summer.”
