Business travellers have expressed their concern about the idea of in-flight mobile calls. Only 16% of travellers said that they would like mobiles to be used on aircrafts, compared to 56% that said they didn’t want it.

The plans were to take affect next year and would involve passengers being able to send and receive phone calls after the aircraft as reached 3000 metres. Although both leisure and business travellers were against the idea of in-flight mobile calls, it was mainly business passengers that expressed their dislike for the idea.

It is likely that the plans will go ahead for a trial period just to see if people’s views do change. The expectation is that passengers will ground the use of mobile phones on aircrafts.

The Daily Telegraph have now even organised a ‘Keep flights mobile free’ petition which has received 3600 so far and this figure is expected to keep on rising.
