The minimum legroom on flights is to be increased by 2 inches according to the House of Lords Science and Technology Committee.
The call for more legroom has come as the Lords found that the limited room prevented some passengers from getting into the brace position during an emergency. Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) is also thought to be a factor.
The CAA are now becoming involved in the debate. The Lords are calling for the distamce between seats to be increased to 28.2 inches.
The CAA claim that most UK airlines already have already have a 28 inch seat pitch although some of the budget airlines do not.
