MAXjet, the business class only airline has filed for bankruptcy after failing to keep up with high fuel prices and high competition levels.

MAXjet offered business class seats on longhaul flights for a lot less than other companies such as British Airways. They flew from London Stansted to New York, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

MAXjet had already asked for its shares to be suspended as it knew that it was in trouble. MAXjet had some tough competition from other airlines and American Airlines new route from Stansted to New York made it even harder to cope.

Passengers who have already booked with MAXjet are being found new flights with Eos if they are travelling between New York and London. Others are being notified about their flights as soon as possible.

If you are unable to use your flights then you can seek refunds. Hotels have also been notified about the airline in case people need to stay in the hotels for longer.
