Kavos – located in the south of Corfu Town and Corfu airport
Kavos is a popular resort with many British holiday-makers who want to relax in the sun all day and then dance the night away. The nightlife is very lively which is why the resort attracts so many young couples and groups of singles. The transfer time for this resort can be up to 2 hours long meaning you have more than enough time to look around at the surrounding scenery that Kavos has to offer as well as gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. Kavos beach is very impressive and at 5 miles long, there is plenty of space to go and sunbathe. Sunbeds and parasols are available to hire on the golden sands and the water is generally safe to swim in as it is shallow and generally warm. Water sports can also be found at the beach. The accommodation in Kavos ranges from self-catering apartments to half-board and all-inclusive hotels. Most of the accommodation ranges from 2-4-stars and has all of the facilities that you would expect.
Kavos – plenty of activities to keep you entertained throughout the day
Kavos has a brilliant beach and therefore has brilliant water sports facilities. These include jet-skiing, water-skiing, windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving and snorkelling. Banana boat and doughnut rides are also very popular among people, especially the younger groups. Paragliding and parascending are also becoming increasingly popular. Kavos diving centre is located near the beach and enables you to hire out all of the equipment for diving as well as receiving full tuition if you feel you need it. There are also a few popular excursions such as boat trips to other islands and beaches, a trip to Corfu Town for a lot of shopping and sightseeing or a trip to Aghios Ioannis to visit the only water park in Corfu.
Kavos – a wide number of restaurants for you to choose from
Kavos has many restaurants for you to enjoy, meaning a wide number of cuisines are available. These include traditional Greek cuisine and a lot of seafood, Italian, Indian, Chinese, Mexican and English. The traditional Greek cuisine is very popular among both tourists and locals and is well worth trying. The nightlife in Kavos is lively with a number of clubs, bars and pubs to choose from. There are cocktail bars, music bars and karaoke bars to choose from as well as a variety of clubs with live DJ’s. If you prefer a slightly quieter night out then many of the pubs would suit you. Shopping in Kavos is fairly good with a number of shops offering clothing, souvenirs, gifts, food, drink and jewellery. Public transport in the resort is good with a number of taxis available and a number of buses that take you to resorts such as Corfu Town.
Kavos - constant sunshine on the island
There are around 300 days of sunshine in the resort of Kavos. Summer temperatures have been known to reach above 30°C, with the hottest month being July, closely followed by August. You will see around 13 hours of sunshine a day at peak times, with the temperatures remaining at a comfortable level thanks to the coastal breeze. December and January are colder, however temperatures are still at around 12-15°C. Rain only occurs in the winter months from November onwards. The summers in Kavos are long, hot and dry, with September and October still seeing temperatures of around 25°C. The sea temperatures are quite warm in the summer but will cool down at night.
