Kardamena – located on the mid-point of the southern coast of Kos
Kardamena is a resort that strongly appeals to young groups of singles looking for a lively nightlife to enjoy. Families and couples also enjoy the resort, however they tend to stay on the outskirts of the resort as it is slightly calmer. Your transfer time into this resort depends on how you are getting there and where in the resort you are staying. The time will vary between 15-30 minutes meaning you have plenty of time to enjoy the resort itself. The beach in Kardamena is very large and covered in golden sand that leads down to the waters edge. Sunbeds and parasols are available to hire and a wide number of water sports are also available. The accommodation in Kardamena is good, with a number of self-catering apartments and a number of hotels offering room only, half-board or all-inclusive. The accommodation generally ranges from 2-4-stars.
Kardamena – plenty of beach and water based activities to enjoy
Kardamena beaches are very picturesque and perfect for relaxing on. However, if you feel that you want more activity then there are a number of water sports available. Many people choose to try the professional scuba diving courses that are available. You get taught how to dive, how to use the equipment and taken out to your dive by professional divers and trainers. Other water sports available include snorkelling, surfing, windsurfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, paragliding, swimming, hiring pedalloes or going on one of the many boat trips. If you prefer to stay out of the water, then try go-karting or one of the crazy golf courses. Local excursions include boat trips to other resort and islands such as the volcanic island of Nissyros. Kos Town is also a popular place to go and visit.
Kardamena - a wide selection of places to go and eat
Kardamena has a number of taverns offering a number of cuisines. Greek cuisine and seafood is very popular in the resort although other cuisines are available. British cuisines are found everywhere in Kardamena as well as a number of fast food outlets such as McDonald’s. Nightlife in Kardamena is the liveliest in Kos with many lively bars, taverns and pubs. There is a lot of entertainment on offer such as karaoke, cocktails, shows, dances and live music. In Kardamena you have plenty of opportunities to dance the night away and enjoy yourself all night long. Shopping in the resort is good with souvenirs, supermarkets, clothing, jewellery, shoes and bags all available. There is a regular bus taking you into Kos Town or a taxi rank in the centre of the town. Alternatively, you can choose either car or motorbike hire to get yourself around.
Kardamena – long hot Mediterranean summers
Kardamena enjoys a Mediterranean climate of very long and hot summers. July and August are the hottest months in the resort with an average temperature of 25°C although this commonly rises to highs of well over 30°C. May is the official start to the summer with temperatures at 21°C which quickly rises to 25°C by June. There is normally no rainfall over July and August and the evenings remain hot at highs of 22°C.
