Flyglobespan LogoFlyglobespan have had their transatlantic license suspended after the CAA revealed that the airline was not meeting requirements.

Flyglobespan are now under strict rules to take routes nearer to Iceland and Greenland when flying to Canada and the USA. This however, increases flight times. The requirements that Flyglobespan were not meeting included maintenance requirements and other operations and the CAA claim that they were not satisfied that the airline was meeting these.

Flyglobespan were already receiving bad press as they had been experiencing a lot of delays and technical faults over the summer on its new budget Atlantic flights.

Flyglobespan released a statement saying that it is business as usual and the new flight changes are only affecting 4% of the flights. They also claimed that there have been no cancellations to flights and they expect the issue to be resolved within the next few days.
