Christmas TreeMore and more Brit’s are ditching the UK this winter for some fun in the sun. More and more people are booking trips to Cyprus, Tenerife, Egypt and India.

Some destinations have seen an increase in bookings of up to 40%. There is an increase of 11% of people travelling abroad for the festive season.

Although Spain and Cyprus are the most popular destinations for a Christmas getaway, longhaul destinations look set to take over. More people are booking holidays to the US and Egypt in a bid to get away.

The reason for this, according to customers, is that they missed out on a hot summer and are now desperate for some sunshine over the winter.

Christmas is made a lot more commercial in the US which is why many families are going there. In Spain, there is also a big celebration and it is very traditional. Many people feel that it is better there than it is in our own country.
