BAA sees rise in passenger numbers
14th July 2009 at 02:26pm by Kevin Newton

BAA has said that the major UK airports had the highest level of passengers that it has had in 9 months.

London Gatwick, Heathrow, Stansted, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Southampton are all operated by BAA and handled 12.7 million passengers in June alone which was actually 5.9% less than in June 2008.  However this is the best figures they have had since September 2008.

All airport figures were down, however they were the best figures seen since Autumn last year. Edinburgh however had passenger numbers increase by 1.4%, Glasgow saw an increase of 10.9% and Aberdeen saw an increase of 9.8%.
