Last year, the number of incidents onboard an aircraft rose by almost two-thirds.
There is a zero tolerance rule on aircraft when it comes to violence or rage, however cases still manged to rise from 1,359 to 2,219 by March.
Although it is rare, there were some serious incidents on aircraft in which either an injury occured or the aircraft had to be diverted. The number of these incidents rose from 2 to 58 which is completely unacceptable.
Alcohol is the common factor between most of the incidents, however the smoking restirctions on aircraft also became a factor. Other rows started over people reclining their seats and where people were actually being sat in the aircraft.
New measures are being discussed to ensure that passengers and crew are kept safe during a flight.
