AlitaliaAlitalia is selling 49% of its company that is owned by the Italian government and Air France KLM are the first airline to formally announce an interest.

Alitalia has struggled recently due to rising costs and an increasingly competitive market, which is why they have decided that its time to sell part of the company to someone else.

However, Alitalia’s spokesperson claims that they believe that the change will become a major benefit to passengers as it would meet all of their requirements.

Air France KLM have also stated that they feel the benefits of owning part of Alitalia would be brilliant and they would start to see a massive profit growth. They believe that Alitalia will benefit from the sale as they will then be part of the world’s leading air transport group.

Air France KLM have said that they would offer medium and long-haul flights from Milan. They have stated that both early morning and evening departures would be used which would help business customers a lot.

The Italian government have said that they will decide on a buyer for Alitalia by Christmas.
