Algeciras - Located On The Southern Tip Of Spain

Algeciras is a resort that is definitely suited to mature couples and families looking for an authentic Spanish holiday, away from the lively atmosphere of other spanish holiday resorts. There are two brilliantly sandy beaches in Algeciras which attract a lot of tourists, particularly in the summer months. There are a few hotels in Algeciras, rated between 2-3 stars. They have all facilities that you will need and mainly provide an all-inclusive board basis. The resort is a major port in Spain and is well-known for being placed beaten by only Barcelona.



Algeciras - Plenty Of Sight Seeing To Keep You Occupied

Algeciras is a brilliant resort for looking around at various sites and strolling around the older parts of the town. You will find medieval walls, 13th century Arab baths an beautiful authentic scenery. Art galleries and craft shops are all there for you to enjoy as well. There are also some historic churches to go and take a look at. The resort is perfect for seeing history and various cultures. There are a few excursions available from the resort such as a trip to Gibraltar, Tangier, Jerez and Ronda. You will find some water sports in the resort such as windsurfing, snorkelling and scuba diving. Walking up the mountains is definitely recommended as you can see wildlife, wild flowers and protected forests.

The hotels in Algeciras offer both day and night entertainment programmes as well as breakfast, lunch and dinner so you may find that many people stay in. There are a few local bars, bingo and cinemas. There is music in the bars, however the nightlife is not very noisy and vibrant.

Algeciras has an average temperature of around 22°C with the average water temperature being 18°C. During the summer months, the water temperature can reach up to 23°C making water sports perfect. If you want to avoid visiting in the hottest months then visit in May or June where temperatures are around 27°C. The highest summer temperature tends to be around 30°C. The coldest month is January, however temperatures still manage to reach 16°C. The sun is always out and when it does rain, it is cleared up very quickly.
