Corfu - Located Just West Of Mainland Greece As Part Of The Ionian Islands
Corfu is a resort that is well suited to people of all ages, couples, families and singles. There are relaxing areas and lively areas on the island meaning that everyone is catered for. Corfu\\\'s beaches are brilliant and many people choose to spend the majority of their days on them. They are some of the best beaches known on the Greek Island\\\'s with fine white sands and clear blue seas. The beaches have been given the European Blue Flags for their cleanliness and their safety. Many are manned by lifeguards and operate a flag system to tell you whether or not it is safe to go in the water. There is a wide range of accommodation in Corfu, including budget accommodation and 5-star accommodation. You will find a lot of self-catering apartments that range from 2-4-stars, many of which are enjoyed by groups of young singles on lively holidays. There are also a number of hotels offering half-board and all-inclusive. These generally range from 2-5-star and have all of the amenities and facilities that you would expect.
Corfu - Plenty Of Water Sports And Other Activities To Keep You Occupied
Corfu has brilliant beaches and therefore has some brilliant water sports on offer. These include windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, jet-skiing, water-skiing, banana boat rides, kayaking, parasailing, paragliding, kite surfing and even pedalo rides. Sailing and boat trips are popular in the resort. You can just take a leisurely trip around the waters, stopping off for a swim, or you can visit other beaches or even visit neighbouring islands of Paxos or Antipaxos. Glass-bottomed boat trips are very popular as well as dolphin watching trips. Horse-riding is very popular in the countryside of Corfu, with many scenic areas and mountainous regions. You can take both day trips and excursions with horse-riding. There are plenty of places to walk around and explore in Corfu and some areas will give you brilliant views. The same goes for the mountain biking that many people enjoy. There is an 18-hole championship golf course in Corfu which both beginners and experts can enjoy. Other sports to enjoy include tennis, volleyball, water-polo and mini golf. The Aqualand Water park is something that everyone can enjoy. People of all ages go to the park to experience a wide number of slides and pools. There are also a few water-rides for some.
Corfu - A Number Of Restaurants To Choose From
Corfu has a number of restaurants available offering a number of cuisines. The most popular is the local and traditional Greek food, however you will also find French, Italian, Indian, Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese restaurants. Fast food chains can also be found in Corfu. The nightlife in Corfu is brilliant with bars, pubs, clubs and discos. There are a number of bars and clubs that are mainly open during the peak summer season. They are open until the early hours of the morning so you can dance the night away. The bars and pubs offer live music, karaoke, cocktails and plenty of other offers. Shopping in Corfu is brilliant. You will find clothing, jewellery, souvenirs, crafts and leather goods as well as many other things in Corfu. Public transport is good, with regular buses taking you to the various resorts on the island.
Corfu - Constant Sunshine On The Island
There are around 300 days of sunshine on the island of Corfu. Summer temperatures have been known to reach above 30°C, with the hottest month being July, closely followed by August. You will see around 13 hours of sunshine a day at peak times, with the temperatures remaining at a comfortable level thanks to the coastal breeze. December and January are colder, however temperatures are still at around 12-15°C. Rain only occurs in the winter months from November onwards. The summers in Corfu are long, hot and dry, with September and October still seeing temperatures of around 25°C. The sea temperatures are quite warm in the summer but will cool down at night.

New easyJet Base Located at Manchester Airport 15th May 2008
EasyJet has opened a new base at Manchester Airport due to their takeover of GB Airways, who are now being totally rebranded and changed to the airlines ever recognisable orange colour.
EasyJet took over GB Airways in October for £103.5 million.

EasyJet launch new summer sun routes 2nd May 2008
EasyJet has launched a number of new routes from London Gatwick airport and Manchester airport.
New routes introduced include a Manchester to Malaga route and a Manchester to Crete which will begin today.
There will also be Gatwick services to Monpellier in France and twice-weekly connections to Mykonos.

Passenger numbers going through Gatwick rise 14th April 2008
The number of passengers that passed through Gatwick last month, (March 2008) increased greatly compared to the number in March 2007.
BAA released new figures that showed that there was a rise of 8.1% last month bringing the new number of passengers going through Gatwick to 2.8 million.

An annual increase on passenger numbers of more than 20% has hugely pleased low-budget airline easyJet.
The new monthly statistics for March were released on April 7th and the total number of passengers to fly with the airline last month was 3,730,143 compared wth 3,094,588 at the same time the previous year.

Increase in security charges angers easyJet 20th February 2008
The Civil Aviation Authority gave BAA permission to increase security charges at London Gatwick Airport.
If the increase in charges does come in then the annual security costs are set to rise from £31.4 million to a massive £82.9 million.
