Pissouri - Located Along The South Coast Of Cyprus
Mature couples and those looking for peace and tranquillity will enjoy holidays in Pissouri. Transfers from Paphos International airport take around half an hour, meaning that you have plenty of time in your resort although you still have time to view the scenery around you on the way. The beach is very long, covered with fine golden sand that leads down the waters edge. It is very popular with both tourists and locals, especially during the peak summer months. You will find a hotel, aparthotels and apartments in Pissouri. They are all of a good standard and have plenty of facilities for you to use. Flights to Paphos take approximately 4.5 hours.
Pissouri - A Very Quiet And Relaxing Resort
Pissouri is really for relaxing, sightseeing and bird-watching. However, water sports are available in the resort such as water-skiing, jet-skiing, parasailing, paragliding, windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling and scuba diving. For some more activities, take an excursion to other resorts such as Paphos and try a number of water sports, shopping or sightseeing. There are even full day excursions to other places such as Nicosia or the Troodos Mountains. Pissouri is a brilliant resort when it come to sights. The coast is a brilliant place to get some great views. There is also a vineyard in Pissouri that is very popular, as well as a golf course.
Pissouri - A Range Of Cuisines To Choose From
Pissouri is home to some very traditional restaurants with a lot of Cypriot cuisine. However, if you would like to see a more familiar menu then you will see cuisines such as Italian and British as well. The nightlife of the resort is very low-key with a few bars and pubs. If you are looking for something a little livelier, then why not jump on a bus into Paphos. You will find many souvenir shops in Pissouri as well as food shops but nothing major. Again, head into Paphos for a wider selection. Taxis are available in the resort of Pissouri, as are buses that will take you around the resrt and to other resorts such as Paphos or Limassol.
Pissouri - Very Hot Temperatures In The Summer Months
Pissouri is a very hot resort with temperatures sometimes reaching above 40°C. You are guaranteed to need high factor sun cream when visiting this destination. July and August are the hottest months in Pissouri with average temperatures of 35°C. You will also have 13 hours of pure sunshine a day. Winters are very short and mild with January and February being the coldest months. Even though they are cold, they still have temperatures of at least 15°C. Rainfall only occurs 40 days out of the year but this is very short lived and the sun still tends to shine. There is not always a breeze in Pissouri so many people decide to keep to the shade at times. The temperature will not fall below 30°C from June to September, leaving you with warm sea temperatures, making it perfect for water sports. The night also remains warm so it is advised that you get air conditioning in your accommodation.
