Cala Alcaufar - Located On The South East Coast Of Menorca

Cala Alcaufar is a resort that is good for people looking for a quiet holiday, such as young families and couples. It is a fairly mid to upmarket resort. The transfer time for this resort from Menorca airport is around 30 minutes. This gives you just enough time to look at the surrounding scenery and get an idea of the location of your resort and your accommodation within the resort. The beach is a small, sandy sheltered cove that is perfect for relaxing on. You will find both hotels and apartment in the resort as well as a few privately owned villas. All have the relevant facilities and services and are usually around 3-5-stars.



Cala Alcaufar - Plenty Of Excursions To Keep You Busy During The Day

Cala Alcaufar is a very quiet resort where you really need to make up your own entertainment unless you take park in one of the many excursions available to you. A tour of Mahon is a popular activity as it gives you the opportunity to shop and sightsee. There are also a lot of attractions in Cala Alcaufar that you may find popular. There are also plenty of boat trips that go along the bay in Cala Alcaufar which are popular. Other excursions include tours of prehistoric monuments, trying water sports in the other resorts, sightseeing and shopping, walking and bird-watching trips, golf and even a visit to the hilltop sanctuary in El Toro.



Cala Alcaufar - Food Is Good And Prices Reasonable

Although Cala Alcaufar may not have a wide variety, it is still home to some good cuisine in the restaurant and café. There are a lot of tapas dishes as well as Spanish food and it is all reasonably priced. Nightlife can mainly be found in hotels in the form of karaoke nights or cabaret shows. Music is also played in many of the hotel bars. If you did want a lively night, then head to the vibrant capital of Mahon, where you will find many bars with live music, karaoke and cocktails. If you want to do some serious shopping then again, head to Mahon where you will find everything you want such as clothing, shoes, bags, jewellery, souvenirs and other little crafts. Public transport is fairly good with buses taking you into Mahon as well as an inter-resort shuttle hat takes you into Punta Prima Beach.



Cala Alcaufar - Brilliant Sunny Climate

Cala Alcaufar is blessed with long, warm summers, clear blue skies and hours of sunshine. Winter in Cala Alcaufar is still good as it remains fairly mild. Although there is rain in the winter, it is light and moderate. There are cool breezes that sweep across the resort maintaining temperatures and making it a lot cooler for you. Summer sees temperatures reaching 30°C with 11 hours of sunshine a day. Temperatures have also been known to reach 35°C, especially during August. Very little rain falls between July and September making it a very popular summer destination. During the winter, you may only see 5 hours of sunshine and temperatures will drop to 14°C. This is between December and January, however in March, temperatures start to rise again, reaching 18°C. It is very rare that it will rain for a whole day in Cala Alcaufar. When it does rain, it usually clears up very quickly.
