Villa Fiorio
“ booked room with terrace or balcony, none of each. was moved to superior room as it had a terrace, light bulbs out, mini bar fridge broken, stains on furniture, window blinds not working so room very dark, mold in shower cubicle, bracket for holding shower head broken. And that was the superior suite. When reception was approached all was said was "but it is a superior suite!" no apologys just it will be fixed in the morning. packed up and left following morning to a new hotel. Please do yourselves a favour and avoid like the plague!!! ”

“ Delightful hotel in a quiet but friendly town, very helpful staff and a short 10 minute walk away from the train station and various cafes, shops and restaurants. The rooms were spotless and there was absolutely no nosie pollution. The only drawback I can think of was the lack of swimming pool. If you're travelling to Venice and would like to save a little on the accommodation, I would certainly recommend this place. ”

Grand Hotel Vanvitelli
“ Pool had small amount of algae. Not enough to cause problem or look all that bad. Obviously renovating outside which it does need desperately. Beautiful inside but needs a lot of outside attention. Gym needs fan as very warm doing workouts on treadmills and cycles. Not much else to use - needs more equipment. Otherwise nice layout and showers etc ”

“ excellent location, close to both the bus station and the main railway station, making the airport easy to reach. So close to every tourist location that buses and taxis were unecessary. The air conditioning struggled with temperatures of 40c. I would use this hotel again - it is great value for money, no frills and comfortable. ”

Concorde
“ This hotel was rated as a four star hotel, which it clearly was not. There was mould in the shower and the ceiling in the bathroom, electrical cords hanging lose all over the hotel, curtains were dirty, wicker chairs were fraying, basically everywhere we looked there was disrepair. While we were staying there was ongoing construction. The breakfast we paid extra for was very basic and some days disgusting (one day the milk was bad and two days the only fruit available, pineapple, was rotten and covered with flies). The first night we complained about the noise made above our room. We complained three times and eventually asked to speak to the manager, who came to our room. We were told we could move rooms the following day and suggested we hit the ceiling with a broom stick. We were told the above room was owned privately so there was nothing the hotel could do. We were moved the next day. We expected so much more for a four star hotel and the pictures we saw ahead of time looked nothing like the actual state the hotel was really in. ”

“ The hotel location is brilliant for the main tourist places of interest. Most things were within a 15 or 20 minute walk from the hotel. The staff were professional and very helpful particularly Edwin on reception. We had a bad experience on the metro when my husbands wallet and my purse were stolen but that's no reflection on the hotel. Beware of travelling in crowded places. The hotel room safe is good for valuables. A word of advice to future travellers. Don't keep all your cash and valuables with you. Just take what you need for the day. That way if you are robbed or pick pocketed you won't lose everything. ”

“ Great place to be based with train service to Venice easy to use and frequent. The bar/cafe at train station is ace. Thursday night is loud music night ! only til 12:00 rest of time it is quiet. We had a big room overlooking the front, other rooms at the back looked smaller. We stayed for 6 nights Only had breakfast at Hotel which was very good. No reason for not eating here other than we usually had eaten earlier either in Venice or at one of the restaurants locally. It isnt much cheaper locally for food so stick to Venice. Having said that local shops, bars and even a market (I think its Monday) are worth spending some time. Staff excellent nothing to much trouble Bar is expensive but no more than other places. There is a Spar near the station ”

“ The hotel was good for what we wanted i.e. a base whilst we were out most of the time. The communal area was very small and there was nowhere to sit really, if you just wanted to spend an hour out of the sun, other than in your room. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was good. My one criticism was that my daughter found a plaster in her bed that wasn't hers! ”

“ The hotel is in an absolutely perfect location for St. Mark's Square. It was also very convenient for the water taxi services both up and down the Grand Canal and the airport. The setting for breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Grand Canal is quite spectacular and the breakfast buffet was both plentiful and appealing. I stayed in the Casa Nova Suites in a building adjacent to the main hotel and it was very well appointed and extremely quiet and peaceful. I did have a minor problem setting the A/C but this was soon solved by the maintenance man and seemed to be finger trouble on my part. There was little to find fault with and our overall stay was memorable and certainly would be considered again. ”

“ Lovely place, pool was freezing cold and some of the staff were a little moody. Food was ok, rooms very spacious and the scenery was to die for! The area was accessible and the bus stop was not far, there were also some nice restaurants near by. Would defo recommend! ”

“ Situated on the Lido away from the maddening crowd, this hotel was basic but clean and quiet and conveniently situated near the main vaporetto stop for the Lido. I would recommend it as a good base for anyone on a site seeing weekend. ”

San Remo
“ Very central in Rome, only 10 minute walk from Rome Termini railway station. The hotel was clean, tidy and quiet (not on a main road). The room was adequate with a large bed and plenty of cupboard and drawer/shelf space. The bathroom was a little small, but you don't spend your holiday time in there. The room was made up everyday with clean towels, soap etc. No tea/coffee making in the room but could be purchased from the bar downstairs and taken to the room. The hotel is within walking distance of all the major sights. Some very good, reasonably priced restaraunts close to the hotel. The hotel is not a five star hotel but for a few nights it's a nice little place to stay if your on a budget. I have not recommended for familes, seniors or disabled for the simple reason I don't know what the hotel offers for them. ”

“ The hotel was very clean. They cleaned every day. Breakfast was ok, service good. This hotel is more for people without children. Very nice view, hotel is located on the hill. Close to shops, about 10 minutes walk to bus stop, 20 min to nearest metro station. I will definitely recommend to my friends. ”

Grand Hotel Hermitage
“ This was a very disappointing 4 star rated hotel which quite frankly should be rated a 2 star. The decor is more than dated..... you get 2 single beds pushed together. There is not even coffee making facility in the room. Breakfast was extremely bland to say the least with either bread roll and cheese or yogurt or cake. TV in the room was circa 14inch box.. You get charged 10 euros for 2 very old pool towels at the end of the stay and due to the fact that this hotel is 6 miles away from sorrento whilst there is a shuttlebus service this is not frequent enough going to and from town. Overall Sorrento is a great place but the trip was slightly spoiled by the hotel ”
