Lighthouse Studios
“ Lovely quiet situation - Katelios mostly closed as end of season. Good spacious appt; no hot water initially as dull weather and we thought it depended on solar power. After 2 days the owner switched on a water heater!! Stunning scenery, beautiful beaches, we had a much needed relaxing week. ”

Christina Studios
“ This was my fifth visit to Kefalonia (twice to Scala and three times to Lourdas) - the Christina Studios are a great place to stay - Christina and Makis (the owners) make you feel very welcome and could not be more helpful. The rooms are spotless (cleaned every day) and everything works, even has air conditioning. All rooms, as they are staggered, have great views of the sea accross the bay and are very close to the majority of the Tavernas and beach. Very quiet as it is at the end of the beach road apart from the lapping of the sea and the occasional local on a moped. Would definitely stay there in the future. One thing to note apart from one small mini market next to the beach the majority of the small 'super markets' are up the very steep hill (about 1.5 miles) - don't let this put you off but just don't buy too much in one go like I did if you haven't hired a car! ”

Hercules Studios
“ Having visited Greek islands many times, this is the best standard of self catering accommodation we have stayed in. Providing TV, sandwich toaster, hairdrier and in room safe, free air conditioning and 2 private sea view balconies. Location just 20 metres from the beach and overlooking a friendly quiet beach bar and a few excellent tavernas serving fresh fish and traditional greek dishes. Would definately return and recommend this accommodation and resort for those looking for a quiet relaxing holiday. ”

Kerasia Studios
“ We have just returned from Kefalonia and had the most wonderful time. We had a lovely warm welcome from Eleni, her brother Gerry and their father at Kerasia. The rooms were immaculately clean and have the most wonderful views from the balconies, a panoramic view of the Lourdas Bay. The taverna's are all in walking distance from the apartments, there is a small hill, but it is ok. The beach is a good walk away, coming back up from the beach is a no-no in hot weather. Nothing was too much trouble for Eleni & her family. The pool area was so clean and also has spectacular views, it was very peaceful sitting round the pool. There are only 7 apartments, we had the pool to ourselves most of the time. Plenty of parking if you hire a car. The gardens are beautiful aswell. There is a pool bar and the food was excellent. I highly recommend these apartments & would most definitely return. ”

Pacifae Golden Village (ex Doumas Hotel)
“ Nicely refurbished, most Greek accommodation is very basic and dated - this is not. We stayed in a suite, which had great sized rooms and a lovely bathroom. The rooms were cleaned regularly to a great standard. The breakfast was good and the Doumas family who run the hotel were excellent, even lending us a pushchair when ours was crushed by the airline. Close to a restaurant, mini market and bakery and an easy 15 minute stroll from the waterfront of Katelios, which is small but has several excellent restaurants. ”

La Cite Hotel
“ Really enjoyed my stay at the hotel. The staff (especially Janet) were very friendly. The pool and garden were lovely and relaxing - a little oasis. Although a short walk from the beach, this was not an issue. If you want the beach - hire a car or don't stay in Luxori! ”

Metaxatos Apartments
“ We were very pleased with our holiday in the Metaxatos Apartments. They're situated in a wonderful position on the hillside and our apartment had fantastic views. We couldn't have asked for anywhere better. The family and staff who run the holiday property were very helpful and polite. It's one of the best holiday accommodations we have stayed in and we would certainly return. We will also recommend it to other people. If we were to return, we would probably make it a little earlier in September, as we did experience some wet weather during our stay. That did not however stop us from seeing the rest of the beautiful breathtaking island of Kefalonia. ”

Pythos Apartments
“ These are great apartments for the price we paid. We had a hire car and this made it a perfect base. You're near the airport but you would hardly notice. If you go for breakfast, be warned it is the same every day: 1 boiled egg, toast and jam. Nice bar and pool. The apartments were very quiet and surrounded by olive groves. We had an excellent view over the mountains of Kefalonia. If walking back to apartments at night you may need a torch. Best restaurant by far is Ammes Restaurant just down the road. Lobster Moussaka, fantastic! ”

Paradise Studios
“ Amazing apartments, very friendly and helpfull owners - a big plus to a perfect holiday. The rooms were cleaned daily, we had everything we needed in the room. One little gripe - small bathroom, but it was ok. Shops are a 2 min walk with fresh bread in the mornings. When you have your breakfast ask older lady owner to make you a greek coffee - amazing! I was awake early every day and saw how much attention they give to cleaning and make the place beautiful. You can use facilities of Astra Village Hotel, which is a 2 min walk. Make sure you go to a Greek Night on Thursday as it is a must-see and their food is amazing. Also on the way to the beach (5 min walk) there are Famous Gardens with 1150 different plants - just a magical place. Hire car is a must to enjoy this beatiful island. If you like nice food, visit a restaurant on the beach (forgot it's name, but you can recognise it by striped chairs, not far from the apartments, just ask the owners). It was really the best holiday we have had and we will be back. ”

Pythos Aparthotel
“ Really lovely place. Hire a car, it's cheaper than getting taxis everywhere. Very basic rooms, we only had plates for 2 and there were 3 of us. Ivo (manager) and rest of staff are brillant. Other people staying there made it worthwhile, one big family. Will return one day. ”

“ Hotel was excellent, the staff were superb, our only complaint was that the hotel did not embrace quality evening entertainment, therefore guests without transport would find it too quiet and a rather boring place to stay. ”

Afro Studios
“ We did not stay at the Afro studios due to booking from your end we ended up staying at the Ammes Studios. They did not have the right room for us, thought we were a party of 2 instead of 3 because that was what they were told. There was no toaster, or enough dishes or cutlery for 3 people, however the holiday itself was good it was just where we stayed was not what we were told. ”

“ A stone's throw from the beach and restaurants, clean, basic and nice. No contact details left to contact the manager if you have a problem. I caught him about 7-8pm because my safe broke. He sorted it straight away. Nice guy, just difficult to contact. We would go back. ”

Pythos Studios
“ Very clean, but basic studio apartments - fine as a base for sleeping and eating breakfast in. Owners very friendly and will try to help out as much as they can. Two lovely beaches, a few restaurants and mini-markets within walking distance, but car hire is essential to see the island properly. You can hear the planes taking off and landing from the studios but as it's not many and not every day, it's not annoying. Kefalonia is one of the most beautiful Greek islands I've ever been to, very green and the sea is so blue - definitely worth a visit. ”

Barbara Studios
“ Brilliant service, brilliant location, brilliant room - brilliant hotel! However, we did speak to a few people who complained that there wasn't much to do in Svoronata. If you're looking for a holiday with lots of night life, clubs, bars etc - look elsewhere (maybe Corfu). If you're looking for somewhere with breathtaking scenery, fantastic climate and lovely locals - go to Svoranta. I could not recommend the Babara Studios more highly. Only downside was the local taxis were a total rip off - I guess no matter where you travel, some things never change! ;-) ”

Marina Bay Hotel
“ I found this to be a well run hotel in a beautiful beach location away from the crowds. The room was large and comfortable with a fantastic sea view. The staff were exceptionally helpful, friendly and fluent in English. The hotel is only a mile or two from the amenities of the resort town of Skala, but a hire car is absolutely essential if you want to get about. ”
