NH Berlin-Friedrichstrasse
“ Our second visit this year, and again a very positive experience. The only downside is the noise from the railway if your room overlooks the station, and if like us you want the window open rather than rely on the very efficent air con system. Now we had no problem with this as we enjoyed the hustle and bustle of the variety of trains!! However, if you are looking for peace and quiet, ask for a room that is not on the station side of the hotel. Staff are pleasant and speak English. Breakfasts are exceptional, a huge variety from fresh fruit to full English, with traditional German fare there as well. Our breakfast lasted us until well into the late afternoon. There are lots of restaurants nearby and attractions on Unter den Linden are very close, and there are super transport links right outside the hotel doors. Decor is now a little tired though, and we image it cannot be long before the hotel is totally refurbished. This did not detract from our stay or our intent to use it again on our next visit to Berlin. Finally make sure to ask for tea/coffee facilities when you register. ”

Regent Hotel
“ Lovely hotel with very helpful staff. Ideal location to travel around Munich Christmas Markets because the station was across the road. The rooms were excellent and no train noises could be heard. Would definitely use this hotel again. ”

Am Augustinerplatz
“ I stayed here in Oct 2010 on business in a single room, although the room feels a little on the small side - it had everything and was spotlessly clean. It had been recently decorated, but nonetheless it, and the en suite bathroom were equally spotless. There is a considerable amount of street noise. Leaving windows closed removes that totally, but it can then become a little stuffy, but there is a room thermostat to control the heating. The breakfast was wonderful with the standard continental buffet, but extremely fresh, and again the breakfast room was very clean. Reception staff are all very pleasant and for non-German speaking visitors, they speak excellent English. I never tried the bar - it didn't look that appealing (a little bit pokey), but many hotel bars are. There is also WiFi for those that need it (voucher from reception). I had a very pleasant stay in a very clean, very welcoming hotel in the heart of the city. ”

Luxor Hotel
