Riviera Blue
“ We went all inclusive - the food was awful. Always cold, even if we were first into the dining room. Pool was good but rubbish was not cleared daily so sometimes the previous day's rubbish was still at sunbeds. Thousands of ants at pool. I am diabetic and diet coke was not on AI. I complained and they ordered some for me, but it was 2 litre bottles, kept in the back and only issued to me. This meant it was not cold enough and often flat. Catered mostly for Europeans. No dessert other than fruit and Europeans took heaped plates of fruit the minute it was brought out, so mostly none left. Afternoon snacks were pastries and same as fruit, often none left. A bit far back for disabled or those with walking difficulty. We had a curtain missing and reported it 3 days in a row - only got one when we asked the cleaner. Rooms needed re-decorating, some wallpaper edges coming off, graffitti on our headboard. Rooms were a good size, kitchen area good and cleaners excellent. ”

“ Overall the hotel was not too bad. Food was a bit repetitive and some times cold, but on the whole not bad enough to spoil our holiday. 90% of the staff were pleasant & polite. Pool was cold but that is to be expected. Did this put me off? Not in the slightest. ”

“ Lovely hotel, only downside was being there at the end of the season as very quiet in restaurant etc. Very nice staff and good value for money. Would reccommend a room with a pool view, we had a balcony with a street view which wasn't so nice but in all fairness we were given the opportunity to upgrade. Overall a very pleasant hotel. ”

Hotel Marvel
“ Absolutely loved this hotel and the surrounding area. Food was great, plenty of variety, entertainment was great, was great, clean and spacious. Only reservation I would have was that the air conditioning was not working properly in any of the rooms of the hotel, except the reception. However, this would not put me off and I'd fly back in the morning if I had the annual leave. ”

“ Large clean rooms but no bath only shower tray in corner, also nowhere to store toiletries round sink or shower no cabinet or shelves of any type. No lift in hotel. Location poor mid way between Sunny Beach and Nessebar at least couple of miles to either venue few hotels and apartments in area but most virtually empty. Buses between Sunny Beach and Nessebar plentiful and cheap but when you are going to one or the other twice a day cost mounts up. May be ok in high season but dead at the end, the hotel was shutting down around us. Was only six people in hotel, filter turned off on pool Thursday we wern't due to leave until late the following Monday tables and chairs and umbrellas also taken in everyday from Thursday something else was missing. If they didn't want to provide service that late in season they should not take the booking. ”

Meridian
“ We just returned from 2 weeks at the Meridian, September 09. We stayed here two years ago and found it to be great, which is why we returned. However this year many things seem to have changed and we didn't find it to be quite as good as we originally did. The pub downstairs, while not actually part of the hotel, was a major plus last time, but now it is under new management and the food is expensive, and the entertainment not being very interesting. I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone now, although the Piccadilly across the road is great - the live music is one of the best restaurant bands over there and kids eat free when adults order food too. The hotel itself was fine, just not what we remembered. The lifts are atrocious, for a hotel this size you would expect more or at least bigger lifts - we could rarely get in the lift first time and often had to wait a long time, on our departure we actually waited 15 minutes for the lift. Breakfast was poor but having been to Sunny Beach four times I think bad food is the norm in most hotels, they definitely cater more for Germans. It's not really a big problem though, just dont book half/full/AI board and you'll find eating is not a problem since most restaurants are pretty cheap. Bear in mind if you've been before that Bulgaria is not as cheap as it used to be, the prices themselves haven't changed but the exchange rate has dropped drastically. Beer is still cheaper than cheap at 50p a pint and a standard meal for two will typically cost in the region of £15. Watch out at the hotel pool, they now charge 5lv per sunlounger, although the chairs around the nearby tables are free. The water is far too cold as well, not bad once you've been in for a while but definitely not one for babies and toddlers - my 18 month old son screamed the place down because the water was so cold. Apart from that the hotel is fine, maids come daily to clean and provide fresh towels and toilet paper, sheets are changed every 2 days. They come quite late too, so no unwanted early morning calls. We found the whole hotel to be clean and the staff friendly. I have heard stories of passports disappearing from reception though so be sure to pick yours up right away the day after check in. All in all a decent hotel but in future we plan to stay a bit closer to the centre of the resort - everything is within walking distance but maybe a bit too far if you have small children. ”

Park Hotel Continental
“ It was lovely, we stayed in the 3 star apartments, bed and breakfast. It\\'s not that great for breakfast, but each to their own. I had eggs and toast, that\\'s all I would venture. The pool was lovely - cold at first, but then when you move around in it for a while you warm up. The rooms were kept really well, with the bins cleaned daily, clean towels provided daily, bed clothes changed every 2nd to 3rd day and if you weren\\'t up they would come back later and clean the room for you, which was brill - not many places do that! Although you do need to get the fan at reception, our room was roasting! Overall, I enjoyed it. I would go back, but I\\'d like to see more places before I go back. I was very impressed with it. ”
