San Luis
“ Cleanliness was excellent, food good but a bit repetitive. Walls v thin - got woken up by next door snoring!! Plenty to do at the sports centre and entertainment team worked v hard. Pool was the big let down - nowhere near big enough for the amount of guests - in 10 days we never got a lounger as we didn't fancy getting up at the crack of dawn! However, the pool down the road by the sea was so much nicer we went there most days. 3 charge per lounger but we only got charged once in about 6 visits. We went AI and cocktails weren't included which was a bit cheeky - also took a long time to be served in the evenings. We enjoyed our holiday but prob wouldn't return for above reasons and the fact the resort was v quiet. ”

Club Cales de Ponent
“ We had a lovely stay at Club Cales de Ponent. The staff were lovely and extremely helpful. Food was plentiful and fresh and picnics could be provided. The place was very clean and towels were replaced 3 times a week. I would be happy to recommend and hope to return at some point in the future. ”

Vista Blanes Apartments
“ As a family of 4 (twin boys age 5) we have never been ones to stay aroud the pool. We like to explore the local area. Lots of beautiful bays within 2-20 mins walk. Excellent bus services. Can walk to Ciutadella in 40 minutes along the beautiful coast road. Walk into Cala n Forcat in 15 mins. Good aqua park there, ideal for kids up to about 12 although adults were having great time too. Not cheap to get in though. Better value to buy a 2 -5 day admission ticket. The Vista Blanes is exactly what you should expect for 2*. No air con, very basic kitchen area with little storage space for food stuff. But clean and adequate. If you want a place by the pool it looks like all the beds are covered with towels very early even though people don't turn up until much later in the day to use them. Pool is lovely, restaurant area was also OK and not too pricey but there's much nicer areas to eat out within walking distance or short bus ride. Probably suitable for disabled on ground floors as plenty of ramps but no lifts. Like anywhere at the moment there's no bargains but if you shop around the supermarkets its not too bad. Towels were changed twice in the week with the beds changed/remade once. We had a really lovely holiday in August and the Vista Blanes was a perfect base for us. Weather was very hot with just 1 cloudy morning with a little rain and thunder. ”

Villas del Sol
“ Website for Villa bears no resemblance to the actual villa. (Taken years ago?). Much BETTER than photo/description, great pool very private garden, villa a little tatty (built in 2004?) e.g. no door handle on one bedroom, loo roll holder broken, o/s light not working, pool lights came on @ 10.45pm, TV very dated, no DVD or Tea & Coffee left as per description). But OK overall. Major problem in villa was no documentation: (Emergency contact no's. or instructions on how to use anything; TV, Air Con, Kitchen, etc etc.) We had to let ourselves in were, given no instructions. Usually villas have a Book of the villa: local map, contacts, emergency procedures, where to eat/shop etc. - we had NOTHING. Cala En Porter VERY hilly there are much better Menorca locations. Only suitable for the fit! Overall OK. ”

“ Had a very good holiday. A great place to stay and will go there again. One little whinge - rooms could do with air con, but still a great place. ”

Villa Clara 2
“ In need of modernisation and seriously lacking air conditioning. Could do with more storage space in main bedroom. Towels changed and pool cleaned midweek but pool could have done with being cleaned daily due to leaves constantly falling into it. Net taken away by pool cleaner so we ended up buying a small one of our own and cleaning it ourselves daily. Ideally positioned for beach and short walk from the main attractions. Nice, spacious villa but wouldn't go back unless it was modernised and had air con - nights were unbearable even with fans on. ”

Globales Almirante Farragut Hotel
“ Just returned from 10 nights AI - had a really good time. Only downsides were - aircon not very effective anywhere in the hotel and whilst the entertainment team worked hard, it was generally geared to children and was boring. Overall a really nice hotel, food was excellent, huge variety and well presented. No problems with getting drinks either. A bit of a hike to the sandy cove nearby and a very small beach there, but didn't spoil the holiday. ”

Playa Azul Hotel
“ It was very good but on the couple of occasions we went out in the evening, on our return (before midnight) everything was closed up (the bar) so we could not even get a cup of coffee. As there were no tea making facilities in the room that meant we could not get a drink at all! Also because of a gap between breakfast and the bar opening again if we got up late we had to wait till 11am to get a drink. We were 'All Inclusive' but we had to go out to local cafes to get a drink because of the 'gaps' in service. ”

Roc Lago Park Apartments
“ On arrival we were a little disappointed with the apartment, it needed a complete refurbishment, although it was very clean. The complex is very good, nicely kept and maintained. The hotel staff were excellent and the manager greeted all guests, was easy to approach with a compaint we had and rectified it within an hour. ”

Isla Paraiso Aparthotel
“ This is our 5th year back to the Isla we would recommend this hotel and part of the island to all these who are looking for a quiet pool/beach holiday. There are a few shops which are well stocked with plenty of eating venues. There is a children's disco in the evening. We will be going back next year for the peace and quiet, good food and friendly staff. ”

“ These apartments are fantastic! They are in the most beautiful part of Menorca, alongside the rocks and sea - the view is spectacular. They are immaculate for cleanliness. I have never stayed anywhere as clean. They are very spacious, too. A hidden gem, thank you. ”

Gis Isla Paraiso Aparthotel
“ We were self catering and the grill didn't work in the apartment and we didn't have a kettle either. Both fairly essential items if you are self catering. Whilst we did eat out most of the time it would have been nice to have the facilities to cater in the apartment. The cleanliness of the apartment was good however on the last couple of days there were a lot of cockroaches running around in the bath and in the living room, only a couple of big ones but lots of smaller ones. Whilst these things didn't ruin the holiday they could definately have made it better. ”

Hotasa Sea Club Aparthotel
“ First time in Menorca for us and we were pleasantly surprised by how good our stay at the Hotasa Sea Club was. The apartments were very clean, which is very important to us, and we found the maid service excellent. We were only B&B so can't really comment on the food, but breakfast was good if you got down there in time!! Our children loved the pools, they were never particularly crowded so were always able to play and swim. We would recommend this accommodation but the area was very touristy. Overall though we were very pleased, it was a lovely holiday. ”

IBB Aquarium Hotel
“ A good hotel - staff very friendly. The hotel was very quiet with only two other couples - apparently this is the case with many hotels around it also, as the main tour operators have pulled out as they feel the hotels need refurbishment. Excellent location - 15 min transfer and 2 mins from a lovely beach. ”

Barcelo Hamilton
“ I have always been told to start and end any review with a positive. The view from the sea-view room we had was excellent. The overall impression given by this hotel is one of being tired and in need of money being spent on it, allegedly Barcelo Hotel group is going to spend a lot of money on the Hotel, however we were also told that this rumour had been circulating for the last few years! The pool is small and there were insufficient sun beds. The room was cleaned frequently and the staff in the Hotel were pleasant enough and the food was edible and nicely presented. The Barcelo Hamilton will probably not be on our list of Hotels to stay in on Menorca, however another visit to Menorca is a certainty. ”
