Side - Located on Turkey's South coast

Side is a perfect resort for anyone that loves sightseeing or going to the beach. Many families come to Side as well as couples. The transfer time for this resort is around 1 hour meaning you have plenty of time to look at the scenery that Turkey has to offer and to gain an understanding of the location of you resort and your accommodation within the resort. The beaches in Side are long and golden and extend for miles. The sea is perfectly safe for children as it is shallow and calm and to keep your mind at ease, there are coastguards patrolling the beach. Sunbeds and parasols are also available, however it is important to get one as soon as you can during the high season as they get occupied very quickly. There are plenty of hotels and apartments to choose from. You will find the apartments offer self-catering and some of the hotels offer all-inclusive. The accommodations range from budget to 5-stars.

Side – many beach-based activities

There are plenty of water sports for you to try in the warm waters of Side. They are parasailing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving and snorkelling. There is also the chance to go horse riding which is very popular, as it is a great way to get around the resort. If you enjoy sightseeing and history then why not go and see the Temple of Dionysos, the Palace of the Emperor or even the Temples of Athena and Apollo. Manavgat waterfall is an exciting excursion to go on, as is shopping and sightseeing in Antalya. Going to the Taurus Mountains and taking a Jeep safari is also popular.

Side – busy nightlife in high season

There is some nightlife in Side, however it is spread around. In the old town, you will find nightclubs, music bars, concerts, ballet and opera. There are plenty of restaurants at the waterfront in the old town. There is a lot of Turkish cuisine available, however you will find some other international cuisines around as well. There are plenty of shops in the old town offering jewellery, crafts, clothing, leather and shoes. You will also find some souvenirs around as well. There are buses available in Side although you may have to change. A road train takes you through the resort as well.

Side – typical Mediterranean weather

Side has typical Mediterranean weather with very hot summers, high humidity and no rain. Winters in Side are still mild, however they can be wet. January is the coldest month, ranging from around 8-15°C. July and August are considerably warmer with temperatures reaching above 40°C in the morning. In the evening, temperatures can still be above 30°C, however in the winter it can be as low as 5°C.
