Olu Deniz - Located on the South-West coast of Turkey

Olu Deniz is home to some of Turkey's best beaches and is the perfect beach resort for couples and families. Many British tourists enjoy the resort as it is very relaxing, although there is still plenty for people to do. From Dalaman airport, the transfer time to this resort is around 1 and a half to 2 hours. This means that you have plenty of time to look at the scenery that the rest of Turkey offers, as well as get an understanding for the location of your resort and your accommodation within you resort. The main beach in Olu Deniz is known as Belcekiz and is one of Turkey's best. It is covered with fine, pale sands that meet the turquoise waters edge. There are plenty of sun loungers and parasols but get there early in the summer months to ensure that you do actually get one. The accommodation consists of some good hotels and self-catering apartments. Many of the hotels offer the all-inclusive option although you will also be able to find half-board and self-catering around the resort.

Olu Deniz – many water sports for you to enjoy

Olu Deniz is home to some brilliant beaches meaning that more water sports are available. You will find snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing, surfing, parasailing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, rides on banana boats and even boat trips. There is full instruction on the scuba diving if you are inexperienced and feel that it would benefit you. If you would prefer to stay out of the water, then why not try horse-riding. This is a brilliant way for you to get around the resort and see various sites and scenery. If you want something slightly more active, then why not try paragliding, bike rides or jeep safaris. There are also plenty of areas for you to go walking in. If you enjoy excursions, then you have come to the right resort. You can take many half day excursions that include boat trips to the caves or trips to other islands for shopping and sightseeing. Full day excursions include trips to historical sites as well as a Turtle beach located in Dalyan.

Olu Deniz – a wide variety of places to eat and drink

Olu Deniz is home to many restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines. Obviously, you will find a lot of Turkish cuisine which is highly recommended, however should you want some more international cuisine, then you can try Chinese, seafood, British and Italian cuisines, as well as a lot of fast food and steakhouses. There is plenty of nightlife for you to enjoy such as many lively bars offering karaoke, cocktails, live music and entertainment. There are also discos and a pool bar. Many of the hotels also offer evening entertainment with music and traditional Turkish dances. There is a good choice of shops in Olu Deniz, where you are likely to find jewellery, leather, clothing, shoes, bags, crafts and souvenirs. There are several buses available in Olu Deniz taking you into other resorts such as Fethiye. There are also many taxis that are easily spotted as they are bright yellow and offer good rates.

Olu Deniz – typical Mediterranean climate

Olu Deniz is a hot resort with 320 days of pure sunshine a year. August is the hottest month in Olu Deniz with temperatures exceeding 35°C. There is a cooling sea breeze that sweeps through the resort keeping the humidity down and temperatures at a comfortable level. You will also be lucky enough to get 13 hours of pure sunshine a day in Olu Deniz. From July until the end of September, it is very unlikely that temperatures will drop below 30°C. From October onwards, temperatures are still above 25°C and you will still see over 10 hours of sunshine a day. The water temperatures are very warm making it all the more pleasant to try water sports. During the winter, temperatures are still around 15°C. There are still around 5 hours of sunshine a day for you to enjoy, however there will be the odd shower. The rainfall is very infrequent and does not last long so there is still plenty of time to go and enjoy the sunshine.
