Fethiye - Located in South-West Turkey

Fethiye is a resort that is well suited to people looking for history and an authentic atmosphere. Couples are regularly seen here. The transfer time for this resort from Dalaman Airport is between an hour and 15 minutes to an hour and 45 minutes. This gives you plenty of time to look at the scenery that the Dalaman area has to offer, as well as getting an understanding of the location of your resort and your accommodation within your resort. The nearest beach is Calis Beach which is covered in fine sand that leads down to the waters edge. The beach is very popular so make sure you get there early. You will find plenty of hotels in Fethiye from budget ones to 4-stars.

Fethiye – plenty of sightseeing to do

There is a lot of history in Fethiye for you to explore. There are many temples and a tower that are full of archaeology and history. There is also a museum and Turkish baths and massage to help you relax even more while you are away. Sailing and fishing trips can be organised for you as can yachting. There are plenty of excursions for you to try such as visiting the historical sites of Xanthos, Pinara, Tlos and Karmilassos among others. You can head to Turtle beach in Dalyan, take a choice of 12 island boat trips or take a jeep safari up the mountains.

Fethiye – wide selection down by the harbour

Prices of food in Fethiye tend to be reasonable with a good selection of what to eat. You will find a lot of Turkish food as well as Tapas bars, seafood, Indian, Chinese and Mediterranean. You will also see some British food along with a few fast-food places. There are plenty of bars for you to enjoy and a few karaoke bars are appearing as well. There are nightclubs open during the summer and many of the bars offer live entertainment and music. Many of the large hotels also supply evening entertainment. Fethiye is a brilliant destination for shopping. You will find clothing, souvenirs, leather, jewellery, crafts and textiles. On top of this, there are a few designer shops with shoes, bags and clothing. The public transport in Fethiye is very good and reliable. There is a bus service taking you throughout the resort and into other ones. There is also a taxi boat that will take you to Calis Beach for a relaxing day during the summer months. There are also many taxis and cars, boats and bikes can be hired around the resort.

Fethiye – brilliant sunny weather

Fethiye sees some brilliantly hot and dry summers with mild winters. May to October seems to be the most popular time for tourists to visit the resort as there is an average temperature of 26°C. May and June offer comfortable temperatures between 19°C and 23°C so this is probably the best time to visit if you do not like it too hot. It also makes it a lot easier to go exploring. July and August give temperatures above 30°C and you will see around 13 hours of pure sunshine a day. Water temperatures are also high at around 25°C making the sea perfect for water sports. The average winter temperature in Fethiye is 14°C. You will still have around 5-6 hours of sunshine a day, however the temperature tends to drop to around 12-15°C. Most of the rain falls in December and January with around 1000mm of rain.
