Alanya - Located along Turkey's South coast

Alanya is a very popular resort, especially among young groups. However, everyone is welcome there. People who enjoy sightseeing as well as relaxing on a beach will enjoy Alanya. The time it takes to transfer from Antalya airport to Alanya is around 2 hours. This may seem like a long time, however you will find a lot of scenery to look at on the way and you will get an understanding of the location of Alanya and your accommodation within Alanya. The beaches are very attractive and are covered in fine, golden sands and clean seas. There are also plenty of sunbeds and parasols available but make sure that you get there early to get one. There are hundreds of hotels in Alanya and they are mainly 2-4-stars.

Alanya – plenty to keep you occupied

There are many beach-based activities available, such as beach volleyball and water sports. The water sports that you can try include windsurfing, surfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, jet-skiing and water-skiing. There is plenty of sightseeing for you to do when in Alanya. There is an old castle to see, as well as old buildings and historical features. There is a funfair and a small park for you to enjoy as well. Children especially love this. If you enjoy excursions, then why not head into Antalya for some sightseeing, or go to one of the many archaeological sites? There are also Jeep safaris and boat trips for you to try.

Alanya – hundreds of restaurants to choose from

Alanya is home to some amazing restaurants offering a wide variety of cuisines. You will find Turkish, Italian and British cuisines. There are bars and late-night music bars in Alanya for you to enjoy. There is a lot of entertainment available in hotels, however you may choose to go out and see one of the cabaret shows. There are plenty of shops for you to try, with clothing, leather ware, jewellery and souvenirs all available. There are regular buses taking you into other resorts such as Mersin. There is also a coastal minibus service.

Alanya – hot summers and mild winters

Alanya has some brilliant summer weather. The average temperature is around 27°C with August being the best month. The average temperature in the winter tends to be around 12°C. During the winter, you may find a few storms and it can get quite windy but no damage is caused. The summer shows you around 12 hours of sunshine a day and with a typically Mediterranean climate, it can get very humid. Water temperatures are also quite high making a day at the beach even more pleasant.
