Tossa de Mar - Located in North-East Spain

Tossa de Mar is one of those resorts that is popular with everyone. Families with teenagers and young children are always seen in the resort, as well as the more mature couples. The transfer time to get into the resort is around 1 hours and 15 minutes. This may seem like a long time but in actual fact it is good as you can look at all the scenery in other resorts and get an idea of the location of Tossa de Mar should you decide to go exploring one day. The beaches in Tossa de Mar do tend to get crowded on occasions with their golden sands and blue waters. There are plenty of hotels to choose from in Tossa de Mar and many are full of character. You will also find a lot of apartments in the resort should you decide that you wanted to go for the self-catering option.

Tossa de Mar – plenty of beach activities to keep you occupied

There are many water sports in Tossa de Mar to keep you occupied such as windsurfing, parasailing, scuba diving, snorkelling and water skiing. There are also many boat trips that you can go on that will take you into other resorts. If you prefer to stay on dry land then why not try out go-karting or horse-riding, which is a brilliant way to get around the resort, taking in all of the scenery. There are also plenty of excursions for you to try such as visiting the Waterworld aquatic park, going to the 18-hole golf course, go shopping in Barcelona, visit Port Aventura, or see the dolphins in Marineland.

Tossa de Mar – plenty of places to eat and drink

Tossa de Mar is home to many restaurants along the seafront, offering a wide variety of cuisines to ensure that everyone is catered for. You will find a lot of seafood, Spanish food such as Paella, Italian, Chinese and British foods. Most restaurants are reasonably priced, however you will find a few more expensive options by the old castle wall. There are a few clubs and bars in the area, however it is not the liveliest of resorts. Most of the bars offer music and there are also some quieter cafés as well. There are a few small craft shops in the resort as well as stores selling clothing and shoes. There are also a few hand made pieces of jewellery available. Public transport in the resort is very good as it is reliable. There are regular buses taking you around the resort and to and from other resorts. You will also find boats taking you into other resorts and taxis offering reasonable rates.

Tossa de Mar – beautiful summer weather all year round

Summers in Tossa de Mar are very popular as they are so warm. Temperatures have been know to reach 40°C although they are normally around 30°C. There are clear blue skies to enjoy and cool breezes that help to keep you comfortable both day and night. July and August see the best weather with around 11 hours of sunshine a day. If there is rain in the summer then it is over and cleared about in a few hours so you can get back to sunbathing again afterwards. Winters in Tossa de Mar are very mild and the minimum temperature is only 12°C. Most of the time, there are very sunny skies, however there is a higher chance of rainfall. The most rain falls in January, however you are still likely to see around 5 hours of sunshine a day.
