San Pedro de Alcantara - Located 10km West of Marbella

San Pedro de Alcantara is a resort that is perfect for couples and families. The transfer time is around 1 hour and 45 minutes meaning there is plenty of time to look at the scenery of the Costa del Sol as well as get an understanding for the location of the resort and what is in it should you decide to go exploring one day. San Pedro beaches are some of the nicest in the area and many tourists flock to them every year. All of the beaches have either light or dark, fine sands leading down to the warm waters. If you enjoy water sports then you will enjoy San Pedro. Here, you will find water-skiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving and snorkelling. Fishing and sailing are also popular with many people, as are hiring out pedalloes. You can also try golf at one of the brilliant courses available to you. There are also plenty of mountain walks for you to go. This way you can get some brilliant views and sites along the way. Horse-riding is also a great way to get around the resort. You can also take trips to other resorts to go sight-seeing or even shop.

San Pedro de Alcantara – no shortage of places to eat

There are plenty of restaurants in San Pedro for you to choose from. The speciality is seafood although you will also find Spanish, Chinese, Italian and British cuisines. There is a wide selection of bars and cafés for you to enjoy. Many of the bars have entertainment or live music. You will also find nightclubs open until the early hours of the morning for those that enjoy staying out and dancing the night away. There are also shops offering clothing, jewellery and souvenirs which can be found around the resort. Public transport in the resort is good with regular and reliable buses taking you around the resort and into others.

The average annual temperature of San Pedro de Alcantara is 19°C. The average summer temperature is 23°C, although during July and August temperatures can reach up to 29°C. The water temperature in the summer is around 24°C making the water perfect for swimming and water sports. You will have around 11 hours of sunshine a day in the summer months between June and August. During the winter, the temperature is still only 12°C. The coldest month is January and the winters tend to be relatively dry. There are only around 45 days of rainfall in a year and this usually clears up very quickly. You still have around 6-7 hours of sunshine a day in San Pedro de Alcantara in the winter months. November and February tend to be the wettest months in the resort.
