Punta Umbria - Located on the North-Western Atlantic coast of Andalucia

Punta Umbria is the perfect beach resort for couples and families looking to go to get away from the usual noisy resorts in Spain. The transfer time is around an hour and a half although this could increase or decrease depending on where you are staying in the resort. The beach is 8 miles wide and has fine golden sands that stretch into the next village. The beaches have umbrellas, sunbeds and showers on offer. The beach also has the European Blue flag because of its cleanliness. The hotels are mainly 3-stars and have all of the facilities that you should need.

Punta Umbria – plenty of beach activities to keep you occupied

Punta Umbria is home to many beach activities to keep you entertained all day long. You will find volleyball in the resort which everyone can join. You will also find many water sports such as snorkelling, windsurfing, scuba diving, water-skiing, sailing and fishing. There are also many sites to go and see such as the museum, a 17th century tower, Roman ruins and even Victorian chalets. If you enjoy other activities, then why not try hiking, horse-riding or mountain biking as they are all good ways of getting around and seeing some brilliant views. There are also excursions to go on such as going to Huelva to look at historical sites, or going to visit various nature sites. Donana National Park is also a must see for all the wildlife.

Punta Umbria – plenty of places to eat and drink

Punta Umbria is home to a variety of cuisines such as Chinese, Spanish, seafood, Italian, British and American. Fish is a speciality in the resort and is very popular with both locals and tourists. There are also many cafés with cakes and ice cream to enjoy on those hot days. There are a lot of bars with live music and DJ\'s in the resort as well as around half a dozen discos and a cinema for you to enjoy. There is a large selection of shops in Punta Umbria offering crafts, jewellery, clothing and souvenirs. There is a local bus service that runs around the town as well as taking you into other resorts. Metered taxis are also available along with a ferry trip.

Punta Umbria – brilliant yearly sunshine

The coldest temperature is in January and this is still around 17°C. The warmest temperatures come in August and are around 30°C. During the summer months, you will get 12 hours of sunshine a day along with warm water temperatures, meaning that water sports become very popular. There is a gently breeze sweeping across from the Atlantic making the heat comfortable and bearable. During the summer months, the evening temperatures are still around 15-20°C so if you can, it is advisable to get accommodation with air conditioning. During the evenings in winter, the temperature still rarely drops below 10°C meaning whatever time of year you come, you are likely to have a warm holiday. From late September to early October, you may find some rain but this does not last very long. There are still 7 hours of sunshine a day during the winter months meanings you still have a perfect climate to holiday in.
