La Pineda - Located on the North-East coast of Spain

La Pineda is a relaxing family resort that many people, including couples enjoy each year. The transfer time for this resort is 45 minutes to an hour, depending on where you are staying. This gives you plenty of time to look at the scenery that Costa Dorada has to offer. You also get an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beaches at La Pineda stretch for 10km and are full of golden sands. You will also find plenty of sunbeds and parasols around. There are plenty of hotels in La Pineda to choose from ranging from 2-4-stars. There are also some apartments available as well offering a self-catering option.

La Pineda – plenty of beach based activities to enjoy

There are plenty of water sports available. The water sports that you can try are windsurfing, surfing, water skiing, jet-skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, sailing, parasailing and even pedallo rides. Fishing is also very popular. If you prefer to stay on dry land, then why not try golf or tennis. If you prefer something different, then why not try the Aquopolis water park. You will find water rides, a wave pool, boat rides, a dolphin show, mini golf and even a zoo. Port Aventura is a must see with plenty of rides and shows on offer.

La Pineda – low key nightlife

Most of the entertainment in La Pineda comes from the hotels and apartments. You will find live music, shows and karaoke in many of the hotels. You may also find quiz nights, comedy shows and cabaret acts if you talk to your rep. There are plenty of restaurants in the resort with seafood, Spanish, British, Italian and Chinese cuisines. If you decide that you do want a more lively evening then get a taxi to and from Salou where you will find nightclubs and bars that offer a very lively atmosphere. There are shops available with clothing, jewellery and souvenirs and there are plenty of buses and taxis for you to catch. The public transport is regular and takes you into different towns and good rates. Both taxis and buses make regular trips into Salou.

La Pineda – a typically Mediterranean climate

There are around 300 days of sunshine a year which means clear blue skies. During the warmest months of July and August, it can be very hot with temperatures reaching 30°C. The spring months of March and April see temperatures of 13-15°C, with May reaching up to 17°C. In June, temperatures finally start to rise to 25°C. During the summer, you will see at least 10 hours of sunshine a day, with water temperatures reaching 22°C. The coastal winds also help to keep the humidity levels down. During the autumn and winter you may see some rain, with September and October being the wettest months. As the resort is in the north, it is wetter than the south and in January, temperatures drop to around 9°C. The skies however tend to stay clear and blue.
