Javea is a renowned family beach resort although many couples also visit the resort each year. The resort is one hour away from Alicante airport meaning you can look at the scenery of Costa Blanca on your way and get an understanding of the location of Javea. There are 15 miles of coastline in Javea which is what helps make it so appealing to tourists. You will find fine, white sands and brilliantly blue waters along the whole coastline. The mountainous backdrop to the resort is also very good. You will find quite a few hotels in the resort all ranging from 2-5-stars and offering everything such as half board and all-inclusive.
There are plenty of water sports for you to try in the warm waters of Javea. These include sailing, fishing, scuba diving, snorkelling and windsurfing. Glass bottomed boat trips are also very popular and take you around the coast of Costa Blanca. You will also find lots of other activities to carry out such as tennis, golf and shooting. If you want the chance to explore the resort and look around using various different methods then try horse-riding, mountain climbing, cycling or walking. There are also many excursions for you to go on such as a trip to the animal water park Mundomar, a trip to Terra Mitica or trips to Aqualandia and Vergel Safari Park.
Javea may not be as lively as Benidorm, but it still does have its fair share of bars and restaurants. In the summer months, you will find that many of the bars have live entertainment in the form of music or shows and along with this, there are a couple of discos to satisfy the younger people. The cuisines that you will find on offer include Chinese, British, Spanish, Mediterranean, Italian and a lot of seafood. There are a lot of dances that take place in Javea, especially Spanish Flamenco dances. There are plenty of shops with clothing, jewellery and souvenirs in the resort but if you want more then head on to nearby Denia or Benidorm. Public transport is very good, with regular buses taking you into other resorts and regular taxis offering cheap rates.
Summers in Javea are very popular as they are so warm. Temperatures have been know to reach 40°C although they are normally around 30°C. There are clear blue skies to enjoy and cool breezes that help to keep you comfortable both day and night. July and August see the best weather with around 11 hours of sunshine a day. If there is rain in the summer then it is over and cleared about in a few hours so you can get back to sunbathing again afterwards. Winters in Javea are very mild and the minimum temperature is only 12°C. Most of the time, there are very sunny skies, however there is a higher chance of rainfall. The most rain falls in January, however you are still likely to see around 5 hours of sunshine a day.
