Islantilla Resort Guide
Islantilla - Located on the North-Western Atlantic coast of Andalucia
Islantilla is a pleasant resort that mainly appeals to couples and families. The transfer time is around 2 hours which sounds like a long time but is actually good as you have plenty of time to take in all of your surroundings and look at all of the scenery that Spain and the Costa de la Luz has to offer. It also gives you plenty of time to get your bearings and grasp and understanding of the location of Islantilla. There are over 2km of fine, white sands and blue waters stretching along the coast of Islantilla. Islantilla beach is said to be one of the best on the Costa de la Luz. There are a few hotels along the beach, as well as a few apartment complexes. Most of the accommodation is around 4-stars and has all of the facilities to cater to your needs.
Islantilla – plenty of things to keep you occupied
There are many water sports available in Islantilla such as windsurfing, snorkelling, scuba diving, surfing, jet-skiing, sailing, canoeing and fishing. There is also a 27-hole golf course in the resort which is very popular amongst golf lovers and everyone from beginners to professionals are welcome. If you want to get around the resort and explore, then try horse-riding, walking, trekking or mountain biking. You will see some amazing views and all of them are great ways of getting around the resort. There are also excursions that you can go on. You can go to the marshlands to see wildlife and birds, or head into Seville for a livelier resort with plenty of shops for you to look at.
Islantilla – a selection of places to eat and drink
There is a selection of small restaurants in Islantilla which mainly offer local dishes such as seafood and Spanish food. For more international cuisine, stay in the hotels. Here you will find a variety of cuisines such as Chinese, British and Italian to ensure that everyone is catered for. There is only a handful of small discos, but these do not go on all night long. Most nightlife is based around a meal in one of the restaurants. However, there are a few bars offering live music. The shops offer clothing, souvenirs, jewellery and bags. If you take a trip to Ayamonte, then you will really be able to shop until you drop. There is no local bus service, however buses to pass through when they are on other routes. You can also call a taxi or take the road train however it is advised that you hire a car if you really want to get around.
Islantilla – perfect summer weather
The coldest temperature is in January and this is still around 17°C. The warmest temperatures come in August and are around 30°C. During the summer months, you will get 12 hours of sunshine a day along with warm water temperatures, meaning that water sports become very popular. There is a gently breeze sweeping across from the Atlantic making the heat comfortable and bearable. During the summer months, the evening temperatures are still around 15-20°C so if you can, it is advisable to get accommodation with air conditioning. During the evenings in winter, the temperature still rarely drops below 10°C meaning whatever time of year you come, you are likely to have a warm holiday. From late September to early October, you may find some rain but this does not last very long. There are still 7 hours of sunshine a day during the winter months meanings you still have a perfect climate to holiday in.
