Isla Cristina is a beautiful resort that is very popular with families and couples who want to be somewhere a bit more upmarket. The transfer time for this resort is around one and a half hours meaning that you have plenty of time to look at all of the surrounding scenery on your way to the resort. You will also have a better understanding of the resort as you will have an idea of the location that it is in. The beach is made up of fine, golden sand that leads down to the blue waters. A few of the hotels in the resort are of high quality and you will find a wide range of board basis in the hotels, from self-catering to all-inclusive. There are a few 5-star hotels that offer so many facilities that you will probably feel that you do not need to go out.
Isla Cristina is full of activities that keep you occupied and enable you to see other resorts. Golf is a very popular activity in Spain and a visit to the golf club in Isla Canela is definitely recommended; especially as it is only 30 minutes away. Kite surfing has become very popular, as are sports such as volleyball down on the beach. Horse-riding is a brilliant way to see the resort and possibly head into other resorts. There is a water park and go-karting at nearby Cartaya which is only 30 minutes away as well. Head to the local marshlands for views of flamingos, spoonbills and storks. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen, you just need to know where to look.
There is a selection of small restaurants in Isla Cristina which mainly offer local dishes such as seafood and Spanish food. For more international cuisine, stay in the hotels. Here you will find a variety of cuisines such as American, British and Italian to ensure that everyone is catered for. There is only a handful of small discos, but these do not go on all night long. Most nightlife is based around a meal in one of the restaurants. There are small crafts, clothing and souvenirs in Isla Cristina, so for more options head to Seville where you can shop until your drop. There are buses taking you into to other resorts, however not many so if you really want to explore then it is recommended that you hire a car.
The coldest temperature is in January and this is still around 17°C. The warmest temperatures come in August and are around 30°C. During the summer months, you will get 12 hours of sunshine a day along with warm water temperatures, meaning that water sports become very popular. There is a gently breeze sweeping across from the Atlantic making the heat comfortable and bearable. During the summer months, the evening temperatures are still around 15-20°C so if you can, it is advisable to get accommodation with air conditioning. During the evenings in winter, the temperature still rarely drops below 10°C meaning whatever time of year you come, you are likely to have a warm holiday. From late September to early October, you may find some rain but this does not last very long. There are still 7 hours of sunshine a day during the winter months meanings you still have a perfect climate to holiday in.
