Isla Canela is a beautiful resort that is very popular with families and couples who want to be somewhere a bit more upmarket. The transfer time for this resort is around one and a half hours meaning that you have plenty of time to look at all of the surrounding scenery on your way to the resort. You will also have a better understanding of the resort as you will have an idea of the location that it is in. The beach is made up of fine, golden sand that lead down to the blue waters. There are also sand dunes on the beach making it even more attractive. A few of the hotels in the resort are of high quality and you will find a wide range of board basis in the hotels, from self-catering to all-inclusive.
Isla Canela has plenty of activities for everyone to try such as golf, fishing or even sailing. There are also many scenic walks for you to try out if you wish. There are also many excursions that you can go on that will take you into other resorts. This includes going into the marshes of Isla Cristina where you can see a lot of wildlife and birds. Donana National Park is also very popular as there is a lot of beautiful scenery for you to admire. If you prefer history then head to Huelva which has many historical sites for you to enjoy. If you enjoy shopping and a busier area then head to Portugal for a day.
There are a few restaurants in the shopping centre in the resort or down by the seafront. There are plenty of cuisines on offer to cater to everyone's tastes such as Spanish, seafood, Chinese, Italian and British. For a wider variety of foods, head to nearby Ayamonte. There are a few bars that offer live music, but the main nightlife can be found in the hotels. Again, for a more lively evening, head to Ayamonte. There are two markets held every week, where you will find crafts and produce. Other than that, there is a small chopping centre selling souvenirs and clothing. There are buses taking you into Huelva and Seville that go through Ayamonte should you want to experience a livelier area. A road train also runs in the summer but other than that you are unlikely to find some good transport.
The coldest temperature is in January and this is still around 17°C. The warmest temperatures come in August and are around 30°C. During the summer months, you will get 12 hours of sunshine a day along with warm water temperatures, meaning that water sports become very popular. There is a gently breeze sweeping across from the Atlantic making the heat comfortable and bearable. During the summer months, the evening temperatures are still around 15-20°C so if you can, it is advisable to get accommodation with air conditioning. During the evenings in winter, the temperature still rarely drops below 10°C meaning whatever time of year you come, you are likely to have a warm holiday. From late September to early October, you may find some rain but this does not last very long. There are still 7 hours of sunshine a day during the winter months meanings you still have a perfect climate to holiday in.
