Estepona - Located on the South coast of Spain

Estepona is a resort perfectly suited to families and couples who want to go somewhere quiet and relatively unknown. The transfer time for this resort is one hours and 15 minutes meaning that you have plenty of time to look at the scenery on your way and get a feel for the location of your resort. The main beach of Estepona is wide with golden sands leading to the water. You will everything from budget hotels to 5-star hotels in Estepona. There are also some apartment complexes offering a self-catering option.

Estepona – plenty of activities for you to try

There are plenty of beach based activities for you to try during the day. If you want to stay on dry land then why not try volleyball. However, if you want to get in the water, then there are plenty of water sports for you to try. These include windsurfing, surfing, water-skiing, scuba diving and snorkelling. If you prefer to stay on dry land all together then taking a trip to the old town is definitely recommended. You will find the Los Remedios church and the clock tower which are all worth seeing for the history and culture that they provide. If you choose to travel just outside of the town then you will find 4 small museums showing you archaeology and history. Tennis and golf are also popular activities for you to try out. There is also a nature park where you can spot wildlife and some gorgeous flowers.

Estepona – seafood is a favourite

There are many tapas restaurants in Estepona as well as a few Argentinian restaurants, however the main dish on offer is seafood. Unfortunately there are not many other cuisines available, apart from at the hotels and in other resorts. The nightlife in the resort is very limited compared to others, with the only places to really go are a few of the local bars. The central streets of the resort are the best places to shop. There are a few smaller shops offering crafts to you, as well as ceramics, leather goods and designer boutiques. The public transport in Estepona is reasonable and reliable. You have buses taking you into many other resorts such as Marbella, Malaga and Torremolinos. There are also taxis, however these can be fairly expensive at times so you may decide to hire your own car.

Estepona – beautiful summer weather

Estepona has an average temperature of around 22°C with the average water temperature being 18°C. During the summer months, the water temperature can reach up to 23°C making water sports perfect. If you want to avoid visiting in the hottest months then visit in May or June where temperatures are around 27°C. The highest summer temperature tends to be around 30°C. The coldest month is January, however temperatures still manage to reach 16°C. The sun is always out and when it does rain, it is cleared up very quickly.
