Calpe - Located between Altea and Moraira

Calpe is a successful family beach resort which is enjoyed by many families and couples all year. The transfer time from the airport is around 1 hour meaning you have plenty of time to get a feel for the location of the resort, as well as look around at all the beautiful scenery. The beaches of Calpe are all hugely popular and have all been awarded with the European Blue Flag for their cleanliness. The beaches are full of fine golden sands and crystal clear waters. The accommodation in Calpe consists of mainly hotels with a few apartments. The hotels are mainly 2-5-stars and offer many board basis from half board to all-inclusive. Self catering holidays can be had in one of the apartments.

Calpe – plenty to see and do

Calpe is actually home to many water sports and the warm waters is one of the main reasons for this. Sailing, scuba diving, water skiing, windsurfing, fishing and snorkelling can all be done here. Other activities include rock climbing, golf, cycling, hiking and tennis. Cycling and hiking are perfect ways to get around and see the resort and all its picturesque scenery. Climbing the famous rock is very popular as this gives you amazing views stretching as far as Ibiza. Calpe offers excursions to other resorts and villages such as Benissa which are very popular if you like seeing a lot of culture and history.

Calpe – plenty of places to eat and drink

Calpe offers a varied choice of bars and restaurants with a range of cuisines so that everyone is catered for. You will find a lot of seafood, as well as Chinese, British, Spanish, Mediterranean and Italian. There are many bars and clubs offering evening entertainment and you may even find live music in the form of jazz, blues and soul in the summer months. There are many fiestas in the area each year which are very popular among both locals and tourists. Dances and theatre shows are also put on during the summer which make good entertainment for tourists. Public transport is good in the area with reasonably priced buses and taxis taking you to various resorts.

Calpe – beautiful summer weather

Summers in Calpe are very popular as they are so warm. Temperatures have been know to reach 40°C although they are normally around 30°C. There are clear blue skies to enjoy and cool breezes that help to keep you comfortable both day and night. July and August see the best weather with around 11 hours of sunshine a day. If there is rain in the summer then it is over and cleared about in a few hours so you can get back to sunbathing again afterwards. Winters in Calpe are very mild and the minimum temperature is only 12°C. Most of the time, there are very sunny skies, however there is a higher chance of rainfall. The most rain falls in January, however you are still likely to see around 5 hours of sunshine a day.
