Calella - Located in North-East Spain

Teenagers and families with young children enjoy Calella. The transfer time for this resort is around one hour although it can be slightly less or slightly more depending on where you are staying. The local beach of Calella is 2 miles long and is filled with fine golden sands and gorgeous blue seas. You will also find snack bars and refreshments along the beach to keep you refreshed and comfortable all day long. The accommodation in Calella is mainly 2-3-star hotels and has all the facilities that you would need.

Calella – plenty to see and do

Calella is a very popular resort with children, especially during July and August. Entertainment is put on for the children at these times where they can be involved in various activities. You will find many water sports available in the resort such as windsurfing, snorkelling, jet-skiing, water-skiing and scuba diving. You will also find volleyball on the beach which everyone is welcome to join in. Canoeing is also popular and can be done under the supervision of a professional. The water park, 18-hole golf course, shopping in Barcelona or visiting the Pyrenees Mountains can all be done just a short distance away from the resort.

Calella – plenty of places to eat and drink

The restaurants in Calella are very popular among tourists and therefore, many cuisines are available. You will find a lot of German and British food as well as seafood, Spanish, Italian and Chinese. The nightlife in the resort is very lively, with many bars an nightclubs open until the early hours of the morning. You will find cocktails, karaoke and a variety of music being played in all bars and clubs. Shopping in Calella is brilliant, with designer boutiques, jewellery, shoes, clothing and souvenirs all widely available. There is a mini train in the resort that runs every 25 minutes taking you around the resort. You will also find buses in the resort travelling to Blanes 7 times a day and Barcelona 2-3 times a day. There are also boats and mainline trains available from the resort.

Calella – perfect summer weather

The average temperature in Calella is around 22°C, however it can reach 30°C during the summer. On average, you will find that you get around 12 hours of sunshine a day during the summer, with this amount halving in the winter. July and August tend to be the hottest months so if you want it a bit milder then it is best to visit in May or June. There is barely any rain in Calella, and it mainly falls between September and February, with December being the wettest month. During the autumn, the temperatures tend to be around 21-24°C and in winter they drop to 16°C.
