Blanes - Located in North-East Spain

Blanes – many beach activities

Blanes is a perfect resort for water sports. You will find many such as windsurfing, jet-skiing, water-skiing, snorkelling and scuba diving. Fishing is also popular as is sailing and this can be done at the fishing port. If you are keen on excursions then this is definitely the resort to stay in. There are plenty of excursions that you can go on from Blanes such as an 18-hole golf course, Waterworld Aquatic Park, sightseeing in Barcelona, Port Aventura or even visit Marineland's dolphinarium. There are also plenty of castle ruins as well as botanical gardens for you to see.

Blanes – plenty to eat and drink in the resort

Blanes is full of local and International cuisine. You will find a lot of seafood, Spanish and Mediterranean food, as well as Chinese, British and Italian. There are around a dozen nightclubs in Blanes which offer music from top DJs. You will also find cabaret shows, karaoke nights and a lot of entertainment in hotels. There is a market on Mondays where you can haggle over your holiday purchases, but you will also find designer boutiques, electronic goods, clothing, shoes and jewellery. Public transport in the resort is very good and reasonably priced. You will find buses along the sea front taking you around the resort and into other resorts such as Lloret de Mar. You will also find trains and boats travelling along the coast and into Barcelona.

Blanes – hot summers and mild winters

The average temperature in Blanes is around 22°C, however it can reach 30°C during the summer. On average, you will find that you get around 12 hours of sunshine a day during the summer, with this amount halving in the winter. July and August tend to be the hottest months so if you want it a bit milder then it is best to visit in May or June. There is barely any rain in Blanes, and it mainly falls between September and February, with December being the wettest month. During the autumn, the temperatures tend to be around 21-24°C and in winter they drop to 16°C.
