Barcelona - Located on the North-East coast of Spain
Regarded as one of the most popular holiday resorts in Spain, Barcelona is suited to people of all ages and all interests. A holiday in Barcelona offers everything from history, to culture, to a vibrant nightlife, to daily sunny weather. The beaches in Barcelona are not used very often but, there are more beaches nearby in other resorts. Barcelona is known as one of Europe's best city breaks and this is simply because there is something offered to everyone.
Barcelona – so much to interest you both night and day
There are many sights for you to see in Barcelona during the day. These include a zoo, an aquarium, museums, art galleries, a cathedral and even a royal palace. If you are looking for a slightly more active day, then visit Mount Tibidabo amusement park, go cycling and take in the scenery or try out some water sports such as snorkelling, scuba diving, windsurfing or even water-skiing. Another theme park is the Poble Espanyol which shows off the art and culture of Spain. There are also many festivals that are carried out at various times of the year. There are also many excursions for you to try such as wine tasting, visit historical towns and museums, or travelling to other Spanish holiday resorts to try the theme parks and do some shopping.
Barcelona – plenty of evening entertainment
Barcelona is full of restaurants offering a variety of different cuisines such as Spanish, French, Italian, Chinese, British, Thai and Mexican. Seafood is also very popular. Fast-food outlets can also be found, which become very popular during the evening after everyone has been out. There are many bars and clubs with a wide range of different music playing. Some bars offer live music, karaoke and cocktails, while many of the bars are home to top DJs. There are also many concerts available as well as theatre productions. There are a lot of shops in Barcelona offering designer clothing, jewellery, a market and souvenirs. There are good train and bus services in Barcelona as they are regular and reasonable. There are also many reasonably priced taxis in the area.
Barcelona – an ideal climate for tourists
The Summer in Barcelona is warm and dry and the winters are mild with some rainfall. Temperatures have been known to reach 34°C in the summer months, although the usual summer temperature is around 27°C. The summer months offer around 9 hours of sunshine a day, with the winter months offering 5 hours of sunshine a day. Winter temperatures are normally at a colder 10°C. There is a breeze in the winter which can make the area feel a lot colder than it is, but in the summer this is welcomed.
