There are a variety of water sports for you to try such as water-skiing, jet-skiing, snorkelling, windsurfing, surfing and scuba diving. Clifftop walks have proved to be very popular as well as golf at many of the nearby resorts and complexes. They welcome both experts and beginners on the golf courses. Horse-riding is popular as is the nearby water park. Both are popular among both adults and children. There are plenty of boat trips for you to go on which will take you to neighbouring beaches so you can travel around to other resorts. There is also a sports and health club that many people will enjoy. There are also plenty of excursions for you to go on such as visits to museums, cathedrals, Monchique Mountains, the chapel in Lagos or Silves castle. As well as this, you could try a jeep safari, visiting Lisbon for shopping and sightseeing or driving through the mountain villages.

Praia da Rocha has a number of restaurants on offer with a number of cuisines. You will fine a lot of seafood, particularly shellfish, Portuguese, Chinese, Indian, French, Italian and British cuisines in the resort. There are a number of bars in Praia da Rocha to keep you entertained in the evening. Most of the bars have entertainment in the form of shows or karaoke. There is also a casino available and a nightclub open until late. Many of the hotels will also operate evening entertainment programmes. There are a number of souvenir shops in Praia da Rocha, however if you want more choices then head to Portimao where you will find shoes, clothing, souvenirs, crafts and leather goods. There is a daily bus service taking you resorts such as Portimao and taxis are easily booked.

The weather in Praia da Rocha is what attracts to many people each year. The summers in Praia da Rocha are long and dry with winters continuing to stay mild with limited rainfall. July and August are the hottest months in Praia da Rocha with average temperatures reaching 30°C. You will also find up to 12 hours of sunshine a day meaning you have plenty of time to enjoy the day. The coastal breezes tend to keep the temperatures slightly lower to enable you to feel more comfortable in the heat. The spring and autumn is still warm with temperatures at 17-19°C. The coldest winter months are January and December although the temperature is till at around 15°C. There is also still around 6 hours of sunshine a day. From November to March is when most of the rainfall comes however on average there are only around 50 days of rainfall a year.
