Armacao de Pera – located along the south coast of Portugal

Armacao de Pera will appeal to many people looking for both quiet holidays and an energetic nightlife. The transfer time from the airport to Armacao de Pera is around 30-45 minutes. Armacao de Pera – plenty of sightseeing and a few water sports to try

Armacao beaches have a lot of facilities such as parasols and sun loungers, however they lack in water sports facilities. There are however a few such as windsurfing, snorkelling and scuba diving. The old part of Armacao de Pera has a few historic buildings for you to look at which enables you to get a feel for what the culture was once like. There is also a 13th century chapel which you are able to go in and view. For a more fun event, try the water park which is located three miles away. Here is where you can enjoy rides, slides and swimming pools and it is great for a family day out. There are also plenty of local excursions for you to go on. These include tours along the coast of Spain, jeep safaris, or shopping trips into Lisbon. Lisbon is also a brilliant place to visit if you want to view historical monuments.

Armacao de Pera – wide range of restaurants to choose from

Armacao has many restaurants for you to choose from offering a wide range of local and international cuisines. Most of the restaurants are located in the old town of Armacao de Pera and you will find Portuguese, seafood, British, French, Chinese, Indian and Italian cuisines. Nearly all of the restaurants will have some sort of fish on their menu. Nightlife in Armacao de Pera is good with a wide selection of bars and clubs that stay open until late. There is a range of music on offer and many of the bars put on entertainment programmes to keep you entertained, such as karaoke, live music or quizzes. Most of the hotels also hold entertainment programmes such as shows and live music which are generally open to the public. There are two large commercial centres in the town centre for those of you that enjoy shopping. There are plenty of places to buy food and souvenirs and you may find a few clothing stores around. For more shopping it is an idea to take a day trip to Lisbon. There are regular buses running from early morning until early evening in Armacao de Pera. They take you to other resorts such as Albufeira and Portimao. Taxis are also available around the resort making travelling easy.

The weather in Armacao de Pera is what attracts to many people each year. The summers in Armacao de Pera are long and dry with winters continuing to stay mild with limited rainfall. July and August are the hottest months in Armacao de Pera with average temperatures reaching 30°C. You will also find up to 12 hours of sunshine a day meaning you have plenty of time to enjoy the day. The coastal breezes tend to keep the temperatures slightly lower to enable you to feel more comfortable in the heat. The spring and autumn is still warm with temperatures at 17-19°C. The coldest winter months are January and December although the temperature is till at around 15°C. There is also still around 6 hours of sunshine a day. From November to March is when most of the rainfall comes however on average there are only around 50 days of rainfall a year.
