During the winter months, the Vidzeme hills are perfect for skiing and snowboarding as they are the highest points in Latvia. There are a range of foods on offer in Latvia, with something for everyone. All cuisines are said to be highly nourishing and appeal to many people. Although many bills in restaurants already include a tip, it is customary to include a little extra for good service. For nightlife, Riga is the place to visit. Latvia – Warm Summers, Cold Winters

June, July and August are the warmest months in Latvia, with temperatures reaching around 22°C. January and February are the coldest months with temperatures being as low as -10°C. Most rain falls between August and November, with March having the least rainfall in the year. Although summers are hot, it is still advised that you take warmer clothes as it can get chilly in the evenings and there is the chance of some rainfall. Snow also falls in the winter months, making it the perfect country for skiing.
