Roda – located on the north coast of Corfu

Roda is a resort attracting couples and families of all ages. Teenagers are able to enjoy the resort even though there are livelier resorts than Roda. The transfer time for the resort from Corfu Airport is around 1 hour, possibly more depending on where exactly in the resort you are staying. Although the transfer may be long, it does give you the opportunity to gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The beach is long and narrow, covered in golden sands leading down to the shallow waters edge. There are a number of hotels and self-catering apartments available in Roda. The hotels offer half-board to all-inclusive and all accommodation ranges from 2-4-stars.

Roda – a number of beach activities to choose from

Roda is home to some brilliant water sports at the beach such as windsurfing, surfing, scuba diving, snorkelling, water-skiing and jet-skiing. Horse-riding is a very popular activity and gives you a different way of seeing the resort. There are many walks through the town and along the coast for you to enjoy and take in the various sights around you. There are also a number of excursions that you can try such as taking a trip to Lake Adinioti near Kassiopi, taking a boat trip to Othoni, Erikoussa or Mathraki, taking coach trips around the island, exploring mountain villages or even heading into Corfu Town for some extensive shopping and sightseeing.

Roda – a wide selection of taverns to choose from

Roda is home to some brilliant taverns filled with traditional Greek cuisine and seafood which is very popular among both locals and tourists. However, if you would prefer something more familiar then why not try the Chinese or Italian options. You may also find a few British options in some places. Most places in the resort are affordable. Nightlife in the resort if fairly quiet with 2 small discos and a few music bars that do remain open until the early hours of the morning. Shopping in the resort is basic with a few souvenir shops, jewellery shops and supermarkets. Taking a trip to Corfu Town should be done if you want some serious shopping. Public transport in the resort is good as it is cheap and reliable. Buses take you into Corfu Town and a taxi rank is also available, however ensure that you agree a price before going on a journey.

Roda - constant sunshine on the island

There are around 300 days of sunshine in the resort of Roda. Summer temperatures have been known to reach above 30°C, with the hottest month being July, closely followed by August. You will see around 13 hours of sunshine a day at peak times, with the temperatures remaining at a comfortable level thanks to the coastal breeze. December and January are colder, however temperatures are still at around 12-15°C. Rain only occurs in the winter months from November onwards. The summers in Roda are long, hot and dry, with September and October still seeing temperatures of around 25°C. The sea temperatures are quite warm in the summer but will cool down at night. It can be slightly cooler in the north than in the south.
