Pefkos is a resort that caters for people on a budget or middle range holiday. The resort is perfect if you want to stay somewhere that is both peaceful and relaxing. The transfer time for this resort is around 2 hours meaning you have plenty of time to look around at the surrounding scenery of Rhodes as well as gain an understanding of the location of the resort and the location of your accommodation within the resort. The main beach in Pefkos is covered in sand leading to the shallow waters edge. Sunbeds and parasols are available to hire and there are plenty of beachfront taverns to enjoy. Several water sports are available and the water is safe to swim in. There are a number of hotels and self-catering apartments available in the resort.
Pefkos has some brilliant beach and water based activities to enjoy. These include sunbathing and water sports such as water-skiing, jet-skiing, windsurfing, snorkelling, scuba diving or going on many boat trips such as the glass-bottomed boat trip. If you prefer to stay out of the water then why not try go-karting in Lardos. Excursions are hugely popular and a trip to the picturesque village of Lindos is definitely a must. There is a full island tour to enjoy as well as a boat trip to Symi island. Marmaris in Turkey is also popular and can be reached by boat. The water park in Faliraki is popular among couples and families looking for an enjoyable day out.
Pefkos has a number of taverns and restaurants to enjoy with a number of cuisines on offer. The main cuisine available is Greek as well as a lot of seafood, although you will also find more international cuisines such as British, Chinese, Indian and Italian. There are a small selection of bars and taverns to enjoy and many Greek nights in the hotels. Nearby Lindos is popular with a number of clubs and bars. When it comes to shopping in the resort, you will find a number local mini markets, jewellers, clothing and souvenirs. Again, Lindos has more sophisticated choice. Public transport in the resort is quite good with a bus service into Rhodes Town and Lindos. There is also a bus service into Lindos twice a day. Taxis are available although it is recommended that you agree the fare before going on the journey.
Pefkos enjoys a Mediterranean climate of very long and hot summers. July and August are the hottest months in the resort with an average temperature of 25°C although this commonly rises to highs of well over 30°C. May is the official start to the summer with temperatures at 21°C which quickly rises to 25°C by June. There is normally no rainfall over July and August and the evenings remain hot at highs of 22°C. July and August see 12 hours of sunshine a day which drops to around 5 hours a day in the winter. Spring and Autumn are pleasant times to come if you are not keen on very hot weather, with temperatures mostly ranging between 16-20°C. Winters tend to be mild in Pefkos with temperatures staying at around 10°C. Between October and May you can expect to see some rainfall but not to the extent that we are used to. December if the wettest month in Pefkos however it still tends to remain fairly warm.
